Ugly?? There is some serious family resemblance to the buells that came before the blast. I suppose thats what happens in a family.

Sorry but I ain't buying. The Blast was a cash cow for the Co, and an ugly one at that. Ask yourself this? How come the Blast wasn't sold outside America? I'll tell you why. Because it's too ugly to sell to the style conscious European's. Rocket |

Rocketman - no one is selling you anything - lol - the reason it is not sold in Euro is the licencing dificulties it would have with their tier systems; You know this so don't state stupidities. The Blast was/is no cash cow, and is popular through merrits very different from the rest of the Buell line. The bike is no uglier than a M2, and M2s look ok to me. Your problem is yours alone - walk away from it while you still have credability about what your talking about in general. GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

$$$$$ was the reason I was told they didn't export it...The mother company didn't think they could make enough money selling them against all the other small hp bikes available outside the USA |

Ez, I'll debate the merits of the Blast willingly with you or anyone else and my credibility will be intact. The M2 is a poor mans S1, always has been. The M2 is not the better looking of the two models. I've heard it said many times on the BadWeB that the M2 is the best Buell ever built. From a practical stand point that may well be the case but no one here can deny that the S1 is a far more handsome beast than any M2. Likewise the Blast is an ugly mother. It's that ugly it's almost on a par in the looks department as a MZ250 but that's unfair on the MZ given it was built down to a price inside the old Eastern Block and was meant to be nothing but a form of two wheeled transport. In fact the MZ was a superb handling bike and was considering its origin, a quality product. If I compare Blast to MZ in the same manner, as I'm sure the Blast was Buells attempt at the same goals MZ were after, except in the American market of course, I'd say I'm on the money. The Blast was a cash cow to help Buell get over the financial difficulties brought about by the 'failings' of the tube frame models it followed. You might like it but I'm willing to bet if it said Honda on the tank and was built in Japan you'd see it just like I do. As an ugly fcuker! Rocket |

Not sure about that Rocket, Honda makes some Fugly bikes that y'all in the rest of the world don't get to see(be thankful)...personally I think the ugliest Buell was the X1 (I mean compare the X1 to the S1 and you can't help but agree). As I said the Blast fits a niche in the North America (mostly the US) that UJM's fit elseware. Hi Blake...I get my Blast back in 2 months...leaving Japan in a week with lots of ideas for future mods engine and otherwise. |

Sigh - Rocket - the problem is simply one of personal aesthetics - the MZ is a great looking bike as is the M2. Yes the S1 is a work of art, however, Buell has yet to make an ugly bike, and calling the Blast and M2 so only states your limitations of perception and the shallowness of your opinions worth on the topic - as such sir you are unarmed in this battle of wits and therefor out of consideration of your handicap I forgo the argument - lol Got Thump?! The Crossroads Blast was one of the most customized Blasts ever created and probably the coolest straightliner single ever built - you can tell by looking at it - it was made with the 1/4 mile in mind - lol - I've only seen a Spondon Duc 450cc with a wet Nitrious system that looked as cool. I've heard it said many times on the BadWeB that the M2 is the best Buell ever built. From a practical stand point that may well be the case but no one here can deny that the S1 is a far more handsome beast than any M2. I would deny it... The S1 is nice, but the newer swing arm and exhaust pipe routing are much better looking on the M2. |

"I never gave the Blast two looks " That seems to be a problem lots of people write it off because it is not a twin, too small, beginner bike etc... How ever as I go back on this board it seems that there are those who own other bikes but have spent time on a Blast and do not discount it off hand. It does what it is supposed to do and then some. It has for sure been an intro into Buell for some and some have stuck with it longer than they originally thought they would. It is a fun bike that bears more than a passing resemblance to it's v-twin brothern. Sean, I even dare say it would be great fun in the UK. No its not the fastest on the road and there are lots of bikes that are faster in the corners. However it is quite capable. Have you ever spent any time on one? Or are you dismissing it only because you do not like it? Yes yours is a work of art, it is faster etc.. And it is yours. You may not like it but the blast is a Buell and it is loved by some and it is here to stay.

Please gentlemen don't force me to admit the Crossroads Blast looks cool. It's like being tickled by your granddad when you're so young, to the point the enjoyment becomes painful and you're begging the tickling to stop. Oh the pain. You guys are killing me. I've never spent time on a Blast but even if it were a great thing to ride that would only make me enter my sensible critique. Since when has Rocket ever bought a bike for sensible reasons? Never is the answer. as such sir you are unarmed in this battle of wits and therefor out of consideration of your handicap I forgo the argument Too true indeed Ez, and very admirable of you. I knew I was on a losing streak from the get go but in the face of adversity, or an ugly Blast or three, I had no choice but to defend my corner. Now I'm going to crawl back into my little hole. Damn, that Crossroads Blast is cooooo...........................bloody Yanks. Don't ya just love 'em Rocket |

I gotta say I find the John Deer Blast kinda cool. Anyways, not hating the Blast. I test rode one during Bike Week last year. While it's lacking in power it makes up for it in fun. That bike is just tons of fun to ride. So easy to throw around too. |
