as I prepare for the annual "this old buell" saga, I realize one of the signature items on the MaDeuece is the big ol headlamp on the front -- my memory is murky (huh?), but I seem to remember someone making slightly larger round headlamps (Suzuki, perhaps?) any data would be most appreciated ;-} I know I'm giving MikeJ the opportunity to post a pic of a WW2 Antiaircraft searchlite here, so have at it, brother! |

The S-1 and Ducati Monster share a very similar headlight bucket. They both share the headlamp with a BMW but the model escapes me. I believe these to to the largest MC headlamps available. |

Bomber the biggest headlight would be from a 1982 Suzuki GS 1100 E.The bike wasn't a bad performer none the less.Great drag bikes.

I believe the 70's R type BMW's used a headlight that was about 8 inches in diameter. Have to go over to the storage unit and check my project bike. Glenn |

i had an 1976 R90/6 for almost 10 years... the headlight was pretty damn big (8" sounds about right)... and as a bonus, it also contained the fusebox and the ignition switch! (Message edited by cerbero on November 04, 2005) |

Sir, The definitive answer is: the aforementioned Suzuki & BMW models, plus maybe a Yamaha or 2 of the same vintages. I went thru this exact search for my '74 Ducati SS back in '78, and have often thought to do the same with my own '99 M2. great minds.... Curt |

I've been wanting to swap the two little lights for one big light on my CityX for a while. Since I'm not much of an electrician, that's not going to happen any time soon. Bob |
