We don't get many kids around our house. Each and every year it's the same. |

Funny Halloween kinda story. My wife was recently traveling/vacationing through New England with her two sisters, her mother, and her aunt. (gee Blake why didn't you join them ) They spent one night at Rose Island Lighthouse off the coast of Newport, Rhode Island. Michele was planning on scaring her poor unsuspecting traveling companions with one of those lifelike looking soft rubber tarantulas. She had it all figured out. It gets very dark in the lighthouse at night. So penlight in hand, Michele was looking to retrieve the faux spider and carry out her devious plan. But she couldn't find it where she had remembered leaving it on her dresser. One of her beloved kin had obviously absconded with it. Frustrated that her plan had been found-out and spoiled, she started back towards bed. Just then her light shone on the bureau next to her and to her utter horror the was a HUGE tarantula! She yelped and jumped like only she can before realizing that she had just pulled what we like to call a "Lucy" after the late great comedienne Lucile Ball. LOL! Funny stuff. Reminds me of some good times growing up and hiding a rubber snake, a faux copper-head. That think sure made for a lot of adrenalin and a lot of laughs. Someone ask my good friend Keith (Skully) about his horrifiying experience walking in the dark in the hill country. I live for moments like that. Fair warning to those of you who don't know me. |
