almost made it. my daughter has vacation from school next week and satan has graciously allowed me the week (she found out i had a bike trip planned). i never say no to time, those single fathers out there will know what i mean. you never know when she will suddenly decide to make it more difficult for me to see my kid. |

Rich Sorry to hear about your son. Broke both ankles? He didn't try jumping out of an upper bedroom window using a sheet as a parachute? Take care, I'm off to teach more new riders the adventures of motorcycling - safely. |

Rich, is your kid skydiving without a parachute? Reminds me of the time my ex-girlfriends son jumped off the top bunk onto a jogging trampoline straight into the wall! He said he was skydiving. I hope your son recovers fast. I was hoping to hang with you dudes and see what kind of trouble we could get into! I'd like to ride with you all this weekend but I low sided at the track. I have all the parts except for the shifter knuckle. I'll be running by Tuesday. |

Mikexlr650, Had a great ride yesterday. Put on 450 miles on the XB12X. I now have about 850 miles in the past week and a half. So far the bike is great. It does all I am looking for. The Uly handled all of the following roads with flying colors. Here is the route I rode. L.I.E. west to the Trogs Neck Bridge to Cross Bronx Exp. to GW Bridge to Palisades Parkway north to Bear Mountain to 9W to 44/55 to 209 to 3 to 28a to 28 to Woodstock HD. 28 West to Margaretville. On the way home I 28 east to NYS thruway to Tappen Zee bridge to 287 east to 95 south to Troggs neck bridge to L.I.E. east and home. |

Rkc, Man you know the GOOD roads! Those are some of the best roads around. I regularly take rt 32 to 44/55 to 3, up thru the catskil park to 28, thru boiceville & woodstock and then to Big Indian. From there, I either take 47(frost valley rd) south to claryville then down to grahamsville & then 55 east and go around the rondout reservoir & back to 209, 44/55, and 32. or.. I stay straight on 28 thru Margaretville & then pick up rt 30 south & twist along the pepacton reservoir till Downsville. after that rt 30 leads to old state highway which takes me along the trout creek and into Roscoe. Finally I go west from Roscoe and pick up rt 52 & take it all the way to 97. 97 south hugs the Delaware river and dumps me out in Port jervis. I-84 takes me back to the Burgh & then I'm just about home. I just did the shorter of the two routes today, man the leaves are changing & the air is cool & crisp! What a trip! Those are all killer roads, hope you enjoy them as much as I do. |

The long route that I described above is just a tad over 300 miles. I'll allow myself a short 20 minute sprint on 84 at the end of that one. "Way too many interstates" what other route that I mentioned is an interstate? And, yes you are right. From Port J. I could have taken rt 6 to middletown and then any number of local roads back to cornwall. or.. occasionally, from port Jervis I'll take rt 23 thru high point state park and down into Sussex NJ where I pick up 94 and take that all the way to the 5 corners in Vails Gate. But, occasionally after 6-8 hrs of riding, I get a little antsy and just want to get home. Thats where 84 fits the bill nicely. |

Saintly, 47(frost valley rd) is one of my favorite roads up there. I would have taken it home but It was around 8:00 pm when I left Margaretville and I just had to get home. Made the 190 mile trek home in 3:15. Mike |
