i don't know very much about the various clubs out there. i've never done well with groups that require strict attention to their rules (good or bad) so i guess i just stayed away. |

i got the Great Adventure thing before I finished reading "dadadadada dum dum". brilliant.hammer mike, ye're tearin the a8s outta me..'adjusts clutch and...etc etc... Honestly, it was giving me minor issues in the past week.... I think that properly adjusting it allowed some detritus to fall out into the hub, hence the caucophonous primary. I'll know mo' tomorrow. .....wisea*s Mike: as Groucho Marx once said, "I wouldn't join any club that would have me as a member" |

Ok Mike, here it is: First I rode the city-x 9, It ran just like my 03 9R, I was expecting it to be maybe smoother or more powerful but it was just the same. This was a good thing for me because it tells me that engine-wise my bike is alright (doesn't vibrate more & hasn't lost power) Then I rode a 12S and I noticed that while it did have more low-end snot, it also pinged/detonated a great deal and it had an annoying fart or popping back whenever the throttle was twisted abruptly. I initially thought that it was just that this particular 12 was in need of some servicing, but then at every traffic light heard the Ulysses (which was always right along side me) doing the same farting & popping. Both the "06" 9 and 12 were noticeably smoother shifting and incredibly easier to find nuetral. The road test route sucked, so ther was no cornering to be had. This was a bummer as I really think that that is the most important thing to "roadtest" on buells. I really wanted to see if they handled any better than my 03. The verdict: IF I were to get another buell, it would definitely be another "9" not a "12". I've heard too many sour apple 12's out there and then I get on a demo and it ran like a POS. I'd probably also go with a n "R" rather than as "S" because the riding position of the two S's didn't suit me. That's my take! Now let the shi t slinging and "12" defending begin. |

saint, have you ever ridden either of the sv series. a bud has a the 650 and it really is a sweet bike. the 1000 appears to be a good "real roads" bike as well. just suggestions if you want to stay with a twin and are going to look elsewhere. |

Saint, When the Demo Truck was up this way the 12 ran like crap as well. The local Harley Retailer pulled it into the shop, put it on the computer and played with the mixture settings. After that is ran real good. |

It does suck that there are no real twisties around Rahway. You have to ride about 1/2 hour to Mountainside or something, and we talked about that, but we wanted to get as many people a chance as possible, so we settled for some highway riding rather than too-long test rides. Jersey Coast. Real flat. |

They just want to catch up to the Burgh. Shooter is dead as he should have been yrs ago. The other two still alive and stable looks good for both of em. So in a way it was a good day.. call it two unwilling people ridding the world of one more piece of $hit by extraordinary means. Bunch of freakin slave traders anyway illegal immigrants workin for 2 dollars an hr. LOL If by chance they are looking for sympathy it's between $hit and syphilis in the dictionary. |

You're most welcome kind sir, We have a serious problem here too, They'll hide up in the chassis or break in & hide in the load of a truck or trailer to get over to England on the ferry. It's a RPIA; I always seal the trailer & take the rig for a thrash over some rough ground to shake any off; The channel ports here look like they must have done during the war, reels of razor wire & patrolled gates. |

The Ulysses I demoed was pinging like a mo fo, every time I got on it. It did wheelie easily though and it pulled hard. My new 12ss has never pinged once but I have generally run Sunoco Ultra in it. Being from a dirt bike background I loved the high bars. Standing up and riding was very comfortable. I could easily imagine blasting down a dirt road over small whoops and wheelieing through mud puddles on it. I so wanted to slip over onto the grassy shoulder on the Parkway but I resisted the temptation. I shoulda done it. At 5'10" I was on my tip toes when stopped, similar to my DRZ400. No, biggie there, but tight woods riding (where you really do need real brush guards) would be out of the question. Lay that baby down on an off camber hillside out in no where & it would stay there 'till the end of time. But then it wasn't designed for that. I'll be doing a write up on my views of the 9 vs the 12 fairly soon, having owned both now. I just want to get 1k miles on the 12 to be as fair as possible. At this point I'm favoring the 9 but I have to break the 12 in a bit more. One thing is for sure so far. The 12 with the new Drummer SS, race ecm and K&N is WAY better than stock. |
