I'm looking for examples of what BRAG chapters are doing for their members. I am interested in improving our local chapter and I would like some ideas. Thanks

Right now, it looks like our new chapter is doing a good job of rounding up local riders for rides. There are a lot of riders out there that are searching for fellow Buellers!

Maybe a tech day at the sponsoring dealer with one of the Buell mechanics giving tips, or a local racer demonstrating suspension setup

We do:
Dealer sponsored tech days(suspention and pretty much what ever we request)
Dealer sponsored Dyno days Baseline dyno run is 1/2 price
Dealer sposored rides, in cunjuction with HOG, still not bad our primary rides Buells
Dealer sponsored Track days, but those have kinda gotten expensive
Dealer sponsored Web site(windycitybrag.com)
Dealer lead rides to the races
Dealer sponsored Buell racer
Brought in the Dynojet dyno guy to explain how a dyno works and to say what he has seen works on a Buell
Dealer sponsored flat track racer(Hank Willes this year)
50/50 raffle at each meeting, all prizes donated by the dealer
pizza and pop at every meeting sponsored by the dealer
Bike show with a dyno contest and Buell class sponsored by dealer with trophys
A free place to meet once a month
10% discount 15% if you bought your bike from the dealer
Direct communication with the primary, lead tech, and all service guys if you like(i once brought in a part to see the shape it was in, and was given the correct answer and why)
Its pretty much up to the group, some things cost the dealer little or nothing, others are pretty expensive, but with a good line of communication and some time it can work out for both parties
Dealer gets loyal customers, that meet at the dealer and buy stuff at least once a month
Dealer gets some help when they need it(we asked if he needed any help with the bike show)
And a farily good stream of buells in and out, to help promote the brand
Hope that helps, if i think of anything else, i will let you know
R

Too cool. I am helping get one started in Colorado Springs.

Grndskpr thanks for the great ideas to get and keep the dealer involved.

We have a yahoo group that is used quite a bit. The dealership is working on getting a website up and running for our group and until then the yahoo group is working well. We've had 18 members sign on in the last 6 weeks. (Our group has only existed for about 8 weeks)
We have a forum on the Storm Fronts as well but it doesn't get used as much as the yahoo group.

At our first Meet & Greet we had 12 people show up and each ride we've had there have been 4-6 riders.

Obviously there is a need for a BRAG group in our area, now it's about keeping people involved and excited.

Since our riding season is coming to the slow season we're just getting geared up for next Spring.
We're hoping to plan some events with the dealership to draw some more sportbike riders to that glass window at the Harley dealership and get them to look through at the Buell :}

One thing I've been wanting to setup with our chapter is a timed navigation course.

Out of curiosity, what do you guys DO at BRAG monthly meetings? I've been to HOG meetings, and they are very formal, with old business, new business, minutes, voting, etc. etc. etc. I've never had the pleasure of attending a BRAG meeting. We HAD a BRAG meeting, but mostly they just walked around, toured the place and then went for a ride I think.

Anyone out there have an opinion about that?
I know no one really has any opinions around here, but, ya know, I thought I'd give it a shot.)}

Check out the 3%er thread in Storm Fronts. That should give you an idea of our kick a$$ club here in Atlanta. Sponsored by Stone Mountain H-D/Buell.

we have no brag charters here. as you might have surmised from this board section, we seem to have a very active group of buell enthusiasts here in NY's hudson valley who are doing fine.
I like the idea of non-factory-affiliated clubs, such as
the American Thunderbike Club,www.americanthunderbike.org
ATC seems to exist as a sort of sister club to The Badweatherbikers site, and I know that right now ATC is making enormous strides to become a bona fide in-the-flesh club for buellers, once again.
I'd like to see a contingent of Riders in my area form into a new ATC charter, and I am aware that ATC's auspicious new director is hoping to promote badweb participation amongst his members, as his vision takes into account the need for independent buellers to network amongst themselves for assistance.
Like I say- no brag charters here, and we Hudson Valley Buellers would be far better served by an independent network, anyway.
Badweb is far and away the best networking tool for buellers that I know of. ATC has the added clout of being a member-subsidized club with regional reps and (soon, once again) meetings. I think that between the two, Buellers have a resource that far outstrips any factory-sanctioned clubs. Badweb puts me in touch with excellent people who have no problem giving advice, making funnies and giving parts away- the sponsors of badweb seem to be the best available, anywhere. paradoxically, I've met local riders through badweb. Now if some of these buelling "clusters" join together as separate, cohesive charters of an independent club, we'll all reap the benefits of sponsorship discounts, national, international and local meets, and more direct, in-person interaction with the excellent sponsors of both sponsors.
what more could brag actually DO for me?
