Speaking of Biker Boyz *groan* why is it that the guy to beat (Laurence Fishburne's character) has a really nasty case of tunnel vision? I mean pardon me, but isn't that exactly what you don't want? I try to keep my vision as wide as possible when I'm on the road.

i remember when my dad took us to see 'on any sunday' when it came out. it double-featured at the drive-in with 'vanishing point' dad brought along al snoop and his wife. al raced for ossa....i remember me and my big brother proudly wearing our 'full-bore' t-shirts and cheering pro riders in the film. incidentally, bruce brown made a nice updated sequel to 'endless summer' in the 90s, called 'endless summer II' featured two young contemporary surfers following the same route as the original riders in 'endless summer'.....maybe it's time he produced 'on any sunday II" |

I never met Peter Fonda or Mickey Rourke but I did happen to see McGreggor on Good Morning America this morning he is in a hospital show called Greys anatomy. I did meet Steven Tyler and he was very cool. He signed my tank on my S1. |

The begining of "Black Rain" is pretty cool. Anyone remember the name of the one from the 80's about an american getting a gp ride in europe. Silly "love story" plot but back then it was all there was on roadracing fiction. Hell I think it is all there is period. Just can't remember the name. The kid practiced on the street in the early am........... |

Faster is without a doubt is the best motorcycling movie to date. Anyone remember time rider, with Fred Ward (I think)? |

"RACE FOR GLORY" 1989 American wins gp on homebuilt bike(he takes his girlfriend and she leaves him---yawn). Not bad, well yes it is, but for the die-hard road racing fan it's worth a watch. |

i never heard of those 'on any sunday' sequels. i have yet to see 'the motorcycle diaries', but i was kinda disappointed to see that in the flick, the ernesto character rides a fullsize motorcycle, while in reality, ernesto rode a small 'whizzer'-esque motorized bicycle..... still gonna check the movie out, though. |

Motorcycle diaries is Ok, it gets more about the people of south america and Ernesto and what influenced him to become the revolutionary Che than the motorcycle |

'Motorcycle Diaries' is not a motorcycle movie. The 1939 Norton 500 in the movie (referred to as the Mighty One) is an incidental part of the movie. This movie is about 2 years (1952-1953) in the life of then medical student Ernesto 'Che' Guevara. Tim |

Silver Dream Racer is a rather corny British flick but at least it has period racing scenes. Supposedly the engine in the featured bike is a square four Barton, the same type that Erik Buell campaigned in his RW750. Sparky you are right................ Barton Motors = Barry Hart and Graham Dyson. To quote Graham Dyson............... Hart wanted to build a F750 challenger and liked the idea of a 'big' RG square four. Sheene lent us his RG500 and we pulled it down to study it. We were horrified when we saw the crank arrangement; everything relied on four 6mm titanium screws. When we built our engine we did it properly, using a keyway and press fit. The basis was a Suzuki bottom end with a Yamaha top end, though there were considerable design differences. Scunthorpe-based national rider Graham Wood took on the role of development rider and, while testing at Oulton Park, broke the engine. We stripped it to find that the narrow drive gears to the cranks had broken, so we changed the design to a much tougher one with wider gears. In fact Suzuki copied our design on their later models. It was this machine that formed the basis for the Silver Dream Racer - that most dire of films starring David Essex. The film boss was a pal of Tony Dawson, of Scitsu rev counter fame, who recommended us for the feature bike. We made two bikes, my brothers did the bodywork, It was a lovely bike, very futuristic but not very practical for genuine racing, but there again the film was a fantasy tale so it had to look the part. We kept the bikes after the film and put them back into proper racing trim. Incidentally I haven't met Peter or Jane Fonda, nor Big Bob, but I have sat on the Silver Dream Racer at the 1979 Earls Court Bike Show. As for best bike movie ever made, Electra Glide In Blue wins hands down for its soundtrack alone. 'Tell Me', the closing track to the movie is an all time classic though seldom ever heard of. "...Nevar, the movie is "Then Came Bronson"..." I'll take responsibility for that one. I'm only 30 so of course I've never seen the show/movie; only heard the retellings. I will add how ever that the movie, as well as the television series, is the reason alot of guys got into motorcycling (from what I hear) ...I've heard time and time again, that the series is great; please don't ruin my expectations... |

When I was a kid, I really liked "Time Rider". It was about a desert race competitior who mistakenly wanders onto a gov't test site during a race and gets zapped back in time to the 1800's. Kind of cheesey, and it's no documentary, but I enjoyed it at 10 years old or so. |

I have to chime in - I bought "Faster" right before I deployed, and finally got a chance to watch it about two weeks ago. Man, what an AWESOME movie! I didn't know squat about MotoGP, but now I am a fan. I plan on watching as much motorcycle racing as I can get my hands on, (which is not much, since I don't have TV here. ) So then my birthday was a couple of weeks ago, and I got an Amazon gift certificate - with it I bought "On Any Sunday", "2004 Tourist Trophy - TT Isle of Man" and the PC game, MotoGP 3. So that should be enough to cure my motorcycle itch for another ten months or so... Now if they would only ship straight here! I have to wait for it to get to my house, and then for my wife to send it to me. Damn... Sean |

"The Wild One" was excellent for the vintage bobbers both limey and yank.... clearly it was the inspiration for Hammer's Rahway Run.... |

"Faster" and "On Any Sunday" are my two faves. One modern, the other an unforgetable classic. Most other motorcycle movies I've seen rank from mildly entertaining to laughable. |

Running Cool (NOT Cool Running) is a pretty good motorcycle movie. Goofey but good because it portrays motorcyclists as decent people and the movie has some memorable lines. Did I mention that is has Dedee Pfeiffer, Michelle Pfeiffer's sister in it |

Strictly speaking not really a motorcycle movie but there's a late 60's, early 70's possibly, British flick called 'IF' where a bunch of public school lads steal some British iron from a dealer and head out on the open road. Inevitably they arrive at a transport cafe where they rock to the duke box and shag the brains out of the blonde waitress. Arriving back at school sometime later they find the old armoury left behind from the war and they break out the guns and go about shooting the school staff from the roof tops and generally rebelling against the world.
