Used they are running 15999UK about $28k US. They go up from there. Not sure how much they are running at the Oregon dealer. They start w/ a bare bones car and there are many add ons. I'd like to see how the stock engine performs before the supercharger! The videos mention how much it costs. (Message edited by t9r on September 22, 2005) |

That's a nice car for track use for sure, but I think I'd like to have a Caterham. I hear they're extremely well mannered at the limit and the limit is quite a ways out there. I kind of like the styling a bit more too.

It's even available in Barricade Orange to go with your Uly..I think the price is 34995 pounds rather than Euros , which so around $60,000 |

A friend at work - filthy rich - no kids - type has an Ariel - it's like a go-cart with a 426 hemi. Slides like a bugger, is pretty twitchy over 60-70 mph but is a blast - not something I would want for the open road - I'd prefer a Lotus Elise S with the 190 hp vtec... |

The Caterham 7 is the ticket for handling - as good as any Formula car in handling and I've seen 460 cadilac engines put into them for reliable power - lol GT - JBOTDS! EZ |

The Ariel car will smoke anything on the road within reason. The power to weight ratio is amazing. It basically is a F1 car. I saw the show and it was great, but the rider on the CBR 600 that was racing the car wasnt even getting his knee down. The guy that runs Ariel has always had a vengance against motorcycles, he's always trying to make something faster. Now only if he could make it cheaper too. |

You could build one for less... Start with a sand car frame/engine and arrange the suspension, brakes, tires to street application... I've never gone faster than my ride in a candied red $60,000 sand car with supercharged LT1 motor! I only saw sky through all five gears, and that was on sand! The driver was steering with steering brakes... |

Maybe it's me but a CBR600? What about a 1 liter bike? Wouldn't that be a better comparison? And I agree, who was riding the bike? The CBR left it behind at the line and even if it didn't corner as well, which I doubt, it should have been able to reel it in. With that out of my system, it is a cool little car. Looks like a blast to ride, and almost as fast as then Enzo they tested. |
