Sf: I have put these on heres what you need. 1/4"-20 by 1 or 1 1/4 long pan head plated or (painted heads) an assortment of washers out to 1 1/4" or larger (fender washers there) rubber for pads, 1/4"-20 hex nuts, locktite (blue) 1. drill out the clearence holes carefully so as not to damage the part start with the front holes where they mount to the tank "ears" re use the factory screws into the well nuts if desired 2.right side rear open up the hole to just pass the 1/4" screw get the smallest flat washer (#10 or #12) possible install and tighten ( this is the easy one ) check for screw contact on fuel cell and wiring (safety first) thighten snug. 3. left rear you are going to make a "sandwhich" through the hole in the gusset ( where the nut is on the right side) a. cut 2 washers from rubber just larger than the largest fender washers, just clearing the screw inside. b. using smaller washers step the hole size down on the inside to back up the nut c. the order is (In to out) nut, washers (likely 3)washer, washer, rubber disk, FRAME, rubber disk, large washer, TRIM, small washer, screw d. use lock tite on the screw and tighten securly,( thight!) check for the screw tip rubbing like the other side test ride watch for loosening, it's fiddly but it works good the rubber grips the frame with out scratching all of these items were purchased at the local lowes store. |
