I bought my first Buell from the dealer down the street, Ray Price HD/Buell. The salesman remembers my name, which I truly appreciate, but beyond that I've generally felt that they weren't really excited about being a Buell dealer. No Buell clothes. Bikes in the back of the store. Same stuff everyone complains about. I was in there a few weeks ago asking about a Uly. They told me they would be getting one in Sept and also mentioned that they were putting some effort into promoting Buell. They called on Friday to say they had a Uly in. I had to drop the Blast off today for a new tire, so I decided to check out the Uly while I was there. I walked over to the sales dept. and asked the sales manager about it. His answer: "We sold it the same day we got it. We have some more on order that should be here soon. The guy who bought it traded in a beautiful white XB9R. It looks brand new. You wanna see it?" I said sure, and he got someone to take me outside the the prep shop. The 9R was in there. It really did look brand new. We went back to the main building and Larry, the salesman who called me about the Uly was there. Larry and I talked about Buells for a few minutes while the Sales Manager (Erik) was proposing deals on the 9R I had just looked at. At this point Mike from the parts dept. walks up and shakes my hand as he says: "Hey, I just pulled the tire for you Blast. I wanted to come over and say hi. I ride a Buell too." A few minutes later I walked outside to call my girlfriend to get a ride home. There was a beautiful red XB out there. As I'm waiting for my g/f to show up, Larry comes out, points to the bike and says: "Have you seen the new Longs?" I hadn't, so I sat on it, and Larry invited me to come back and ride it when I got a chance. Then someone else from the dealership walked by and Larry asked him if he could show me his bike: "Sure. I like it when Buellers come buy" He points us to his tuber, which I believe was a nicely modded X1. I was impressed to say the least. I won't be in town for the kickoff meeting for the BRAG group they are starting. Larry is going to save the information for me. Wow |

I like the folks at RPHD also. I've bought a Buell from them and would buy from them again. I guess that says it all. |

Mike - I was half expecting you to show up and say you were the one who traded the 9R in for the Uly. |

Man, that's great news! Pretty cool about them selling the Ulysses already. I was there Saturday and spent a fair amount of time talking to another guy who was drooling over it. He rode there on a KTM 950 Adventure and was thinking of trading in his 9R and selling the KTM to get the Ulysses. I assume he's the guy that actually bought it. For those that missed it in the NC section and the C3 section, Ray Price HD/Buell is having a Buell meet and greet on Friday Sept. 30th from 6-7pm to promote the brand and start organizing a BRAG club. Pizza and drinks will be provided. If you're interested in attending they ask that you RSVP. Mike L. '04 XB12R |

Spike - My head is still spinning. Do you know where the guy on the KTM was from? |

Jim- I didn't catch where the guy was from. I *think* his name was Don, but I'm absolutely terrible with names so I could be wrong. I do remember him saying his 9R only had about 5k miles on it. |
