need to have valve seals replaced on front head. But want to see if that dealership has a good buell tech. is 4-500 about right to pull a head and replace the valve seals? 2002 x1 with xb heads Thought about pulling the head myself. But the manual is not that clear. Are there any weblinks or non factory manuals that explain head removal? |

thanks of the private messages. I probably wouldn't own a Buell if not for the great people that also own them. But then again what other american v-twin sportbikes options do I have?? lol |

I tried Earl Small's and didn't have satisfactory experience just having tores mounted on Buell wheels. I've been to Stone Mtn and it's a totally very cool Buell experience. I followed the manual and pulled the heads of my S3. I've done it before though. I figure WTF, if I save $300 in labor that's $300 towards tools, stands, etc. DAve |

The only time I had work done on my bike by a dealer was at Earl Smalls. The service manager at the time was Darrin Shock (spelling?) and the mechanics name was Bart (never met him). My M2 had a bad knock and excessive oil consumption right off the showroom floor. They did warranty work on my bike even though I didn't buy the bike from them. They replaced an exhaust valve guide, exhaust valve, pushrods and cams under warranty. The work was top notch and the results were above reproach. 5 years and 25,000 miles later, my M2 still doesn't eat oil. It's more of a testament to the mechanic Bart than anyone else (I wish I had met him!), but Darrin, the service manager, didn't give me any crap and did what he said he would. |

thanks for the name of a good mech. I have found a method that I can repair the bike myself. So I'll try and save my self some money. |

I've always gotten very satisfactory work done at Earl Smalls. From my Blast to my XB9S. |

I second the vote for Tom E. at Stone Mountain I never used Earl Smalls when I lived in Atl but I can vouch for Tom E. at St. Mtn. HD/Buell. He always did right by me. |
