Fullpower, Yeah, yeah, yeah...hey, it's all relative right. Besides, it's in our very nature to try to improve what we have. In other words, obviously it'll never be a GP bike, or ride like a Buell, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved upon. Right? |

I dug up my Hugger shocks and measured them at 11.75 eye to eye as Timbo mentioned. The custom shocks are the same as the Hugger. Chainsaw, I'm after the same thing you are, so I've fitted some old 15.5 racing shocks. The rear is plush, but I still need to get forks. The combo of the Hugger front with the new rear makes the bike nervous to say the least! A pic of daylight under the fender... bike is still victim of transmogrification. Thanks for the correction Matty, Are those shocks made by S&W? They look almost exactly like a pair I had on a bike back in '81. I'll be interested to see where you go with your bike. I see lots of potential. All you need to find is an S1 front end laying around somewhere. Then it will really be transmorgified. BTW, that whitewall looks RACE READY |

Tramp- I just read in the Sunday paper that EVERY C&H strip ever done by Watterson is being released in hardcover/bound collectors edition for around $150. The wife and I are huge fans. Sounds like you are also. Just thought I would let you know..... |

Thank YOU, Odie! That is a worthwhile investment.... Susie Derkins and myself will both be pleased to see it when it's released. ("Here's the bloodthirsty tyrannosaurus rex, tearing the flesh of..." |

Well for me it is no big deal...I ride back and forth to work. Not much fun, but at least I get to ride everyday. it is not very often the she gets to go, and even less when WE get to go... Oh well, they will only get older and free time will rear it's ugly head. Again, thanks for the help everyone. If I knew how to post pics, I would put one up of her bike now. |

Matty, lookin good there, need close up of swiss cheesed sprocket cover. in a similar vein, TWO POUNDS of excess aluminum can easily be carved off the gearcase cover, thus exposing a very nice looking oil pump.dean |

Yeah, I hear ya, but I'll wait until the top end has to come off. I could stand to loose 2 pounds more so than the sporty. It's going to be a slow evolution as time and money allows. First are the forks, then some Aluminum rims, then the spiffy rotors I have sitting on the shelf, on and on and on! I love that bike though, 65,000 miles and still going strong. Timbo, those probably are the very same shocks you had in '81 =) There's no info on the things. I've got Ernie digging around in his archives to find out where they came from.
