I'm about 90% sure I'm going to sell my 9S and get a 12Ss. I sat on the Ss at the local bike night a couple of days ago & really liked it. The clincher was when my wife climbed aboard and raved about how much more comfortable it was then my '03S. I really love my nine and have it dialed in to exactly what I want but I think I'm going to get the Ss. OK, back to my stop at the HD. The folks know me there by name and I'm the assistant director of the local BRAG. I walked over to the salesman (who owns a Buell) and asked him if they are planning to get any new Buells in. "No...... maybe next year in January." I tell him I just sold my dirt bike, have some extra cash and I'm interested in getting a lightening long. I get a blank look as he obviously doesn't know what I'm talking about. I further explain that I want the XBSs. At this point he appears to maybe know what I'm asking for and replies that they are not available. I then ask if they are going to continue selling Buells and he replies "I guess so". Now that I'm on a roll, I ask him if I can special order one and he says "I'll have to ask". So I said OK and turned around and left. How's that for a winning sales technique? LOL. Maybe if I had a gun I could have forced him to take my money..... I'm not bashing the dealership because the service guys and the parts guys have been really great to me. It appears that the sales department and possibly the management are a little lacking. I'd really like to give my business to my "home" dealer but there are at least two other dealers close by that I know would love my business. |

"It appears that the sales department and possibly the management are a little lacking" That's the way it seems to be in the upper left corner of the good ol' U.S. of A. as well. The Parts and Service guys are interested in Buells and generally on top of things but the management team won't support either them or us. The sales staff is just a joke. |

A salesman is a person who believes that he is too smart to have to work, and tells lies, badly, instead. |

That guy isn't a salesman, he is an order taker and not a very good one. I'm surprised that he didn't ask you if you wanted fries with the Ss. That would be about the limit to his sales ability. |

I'm surprised that he didn't ask you if you wanted fries with the Ss. Not much different around here, although I recently heard of a dealer about an hour from me whose service is said to be second to none. I imagine thats for the hardleys; I will have to go check them out to see if they are "Buell friendly". |

With a little luck I may be getting my keys from Erik himself in a few weeks. |

I agree with Dave, I work my arse off to get to the point where I am. A good salesman is one who is not afraid to tell the truth even if its not what the client wants to hear. |

If'n I had t' choose between th' two. I'd rather have the parts and service guys get it. Bad sales people are much easier to get over, than a bad time in service. |

Dave, I'm sorry bro, but it's a bit of a hike to WI. Looks like I'll be forced to get the keys from Erik himself here in Jersey at the end of this month. Courtesy of Liberty HD. |

Hey Steve! Just wanted to let you know that we've procured an Orange XB12Ss for ya, will be here in plenty of time to have Erik go over it with ya on the 24th. I got the call from Court on Saturday, and we were in the middle of a computer move/upgrade over the weekend, but we got-r-done. If you need anything else, feel free to PM me to let me know. Chris |

Chris, Anthony C called me yesterday and gave me the good news! I'm going to need a K&N and a race ECM too, plus some other doodads. Kevin's making me a new Drummer SS this week. He had one of the first ones dynoed at Tilley's over the weekend. Check it out. No other mods but Race ECM & K&N on a 12s. The bike had only 2k mikes on it and dino oil. No TFI required. This may be the best we have seen to date for a stage I hop up. I guess I'm going to need a TPS reset too. I don't know if I can wait for the 24th.....lol.
