Yes it was. The pic of him above was not the run he set the record on. I know because I was in the lane next to him on my 12S and got to see his board light up at 9.93 at 133mph. I then rolled though at 12 and some change. Awesome job Wes. |

Great Job, What is done to the bike to make it run like that or does it have stock internals. Obviously the exhaust and wheels are not stock but what else? |

Thanks a bunch guys! It was a thrill to say the least riding it! First time for me in the 9 second range, so that was a pretty awesome feeling. I think it will be a short lived record however, as they are currently making modifications to the bike so that Leah (50lbs lighter than me, and much meaner...) fits the bike better! Newfie, the bike owned by a customer of Eagle Harley-Davidson out of lafyette, Indiana. The Eagles guys have a race team that competes in the AHDRA on V-rods that go 9.40's in the 144mph range. The motor in the bike I rode is basically a civilized version of the race bike motor. 58mm throttle bodies, 1380cc displacement, mega cycle cams, 1mm over intake and exhaust valves, ported heads, pipe, H-D EFI tuner, and a bunch of V-rod drag race knowledge thrown in there too. I think they said it was good for 170hp at the wheel. The major differences to the racebike being heavier, lower compression ratio, air box/air filter, a standard clutch (vs a MTC lock up on the race bike). The street bike retains the belt drive, charging system, turn signals, lights, etc too. The clutch basket got ripped up pretty badly and I was lucky to get in a good pass! Although the bike has the standard shifter, I cheated a little bit with an electric shifter. It also has a 50hp nitrous system, but the clutch went out before we could try it. The 9.93 pass was all motor! I'm sure there is another 1/10 in there with a better clutch, and who knows with the nitrous system...big thanks to Eagle Harley-Davidson/Paul Diener for letting me ride the animal! Was especially fun having all the Belle City BRAG members there as well! This is definitely a super cool bike, but the next project we have been talking with Eagle on is even cooler...Look for a Street Rod based road racer at Daytona next spring in the AHRMA Battle of the Twins Formula 1 class! Thanks again for the largely undeserved congrats! |
