Blake and BADWEB - right after i started this thread this morning i e-mailed Vik and asked him if he'd take the lead. i haven't heard back from him, but on the thread i started on SacBORG this morning (http://www.sacborg.com/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=013229), Vik has asked the folks at SacBORG to coordinate their efforts here. i think this is very cool, and i publicly thank Vik, Chop and all of SacBORG - and Blake and all of BADWEB - for getting behind this. i CAN'T spearhead this effort right now, not with two major rides coming up in the coming weeks. i have asked Jim Bantz (JB2) and his wife Kim to handle the finances. this is not unprecedented; they did this before for Team Elves, and both are well-respected and justifiably trusted in the motorcycling community. please send your contribution to: Jim and Kim Bantz 1701 S. Jefferson St. Hartford City, IN 47348 if you send a check, MAKE IT OUT TO JIM BANTZ, and put "Gordon Buhle" in the memo field. you can also contribute by PayPal - JB2 is waiting on me to finish this post so he can follow-up with his PayPal info. Vik, PLEASE run with the Laguna end of this, and if you and Fireman Jim want to tag-team, that'd be great. you guys and JB2 can keep in touch as to what we can afford in the way of a tribute for Gordon. JB2 is willing to keep a running tally going here on BADWEB if everyone thinks it's a good idea. if you're not comfortable having the amount you contributed published, or your name published, let JB2 know. SacBORG and BADWEB, thank you for opening your hearts. Gordon was one of the truly good ones, and what we're doing here is a very, very cool way of remembering and honoring the man he was. thank you all. ride in peace, Gordon. i will not forget. FB&D |

BadWeBbers and SacBORGers may make contributions through PayPal if you prefer. Our account is <bantzfam@netusa1.net>. Please select "Goods, other" as the type of payment and then add "Gordon Buhle Memorial Fund" in the title or in the note. I'll post a running and final tally but will keep individual amounts private. We're all in this together and it really don't matter how much you send. If it tugs at your heart a dollar will make a lot of folks smile. Just being able to help Ferris out makes this big pill just a little easier to swallow. Vik and FMJ my e-mail is posted but you can call 24/7 @ 765-499-0806 should the need arise, don't hesitate. Ride Safe ALL, JB2 |

Let us in KC know the date of the ride also and the KC's Least Wanted will set up a ride on that day here in KC. Jerry, Rex, Buhle family, and friends I do not even know what to say, have read everyones posts about Gordon and it has brought a tear to my eye. I wish I could have met Gordon, RIP brother. Tim |

The guy wearing the Helmet works for Buell.. This picture was taken during the No Wining tour.. Fuell took some shots of us... we came back around a few times for them.. Fuell might have got some nice shots of Gordon. It would be cool if they did a nice piece on a true buell enthusiast like he was. It seemed almost every Buell function i went to I saw him and he was always very friendly. sucks to know hes gone.. (Message edited by viros on August 11, 2005) |

The e-mail box was full this morning with several transactions(6) to complete from PayPal... not even a few hours into this and it's clear Gordon will be remembered well at Laguna Seca. We will start a running tally this evening since our ability to post here is very limited during the work day. PayPal donations we will posted to the running total by net amount but we'll also post the face amount before fees like this ... $23.97 {25.00} There's a strong undercurrent in this Buell community that may not always be apparent on the surface but one that humbles me every time I see it called into action. |

One word, Love. I'm sure theres one person here whom I've met, but after reading these posts, it seems I've met someone who's no longer with us. I've met him through the words of his friends, and loved ones. Jerry, man, even though I never got the chance to meet Gordon in person, in life, it seems I've met him through your words. The pictures you took, you said "pale in comparison", never. Pictures taken are what you see, and never are they any better, or worse than someone elses. You took these in honor of a friend, a loved one, so these are the most beautiful, fantastic pictures that can be taken, as they were driven by emotion, not just timing. All I can say, is I'm truly sorry you've lost someone close to you. It's never easy, but it gets easier. Just keep remembering the good times, and everynow and then.. do something spontaneous, do something Gordon would have done. Then laugh with him about it. To Gordon's Family, Again, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Nothing I, nor anyone can say will make this easier, all we can hope to do is help wipe away some tears, and be there when you need it. Just know that you have more friends than you know, right here. Gordon will be remembered, as a person and a friend, not just name. Rick_a (member here) and I and a few others are going on a ride on sunday. I too will drop my passenger pegs, and remove the cowling in memory. Gordon, Wish I could have met you. Seems the impression you made on the people's lives you touched, will be a life long one. You must have been a beautiful person, both professionally, and personally. Keep both hands on the sticks and keep kissing the mirror man.. Ride on.. Ride on.. Rest when you get where you're going.. wherever that buell takes you. -Ryan (as posted under "Gordon's Ride" not sure what the most appropriate thread would be, but the emotion was running in the other thread, as it still is as I post here..) |

It's tough thinking about the fact that we will never engage Gordon again in conversation, standing around in the parking lot at American Sport Bike Night, etc. He's gone unexpectedly. Cherish your pals. |

GORDON BUHLE MEMORIAL FUND 534.17 Previous Balance 26.40 {27.50} 23.97 {25.00} 96.80 {100.00} 23.97 {25.00} 50.00 ------ 755.31 total to date SacBORG and BadWeB members have responded in equal measure which speaks volumes about the character of Gordon Buhle. He was someone who never placed anything before his friendships. We all share the same passion for what we do and we all share the same risk when we throw a leg over our bike. In the end we're all brothers and sisters in the wind. This is cool stuff. |
