Blake, BADWEB - it's hard to write choked with emotion as i am, so bear with me. if there is something we all can do to honor Gordon, count us in. i THINK you can still get personalized pavers made up for the "Steps to the Corkscrew" at Laguna. Gordon sure loved the place, and maybe we could all pitch in and have something really cool made up and placed there in his honor? just an idea, the only one i've got, frankly. put another way: if there's ANY kind of organized effort on behalf of the riding community to do something in Gordon's memory, whether it's an affort that takes place here on BADWEB, and/or on SacBORG, or somehow/somewhere else, we'd like to be involved. ride in peace, Gordon. we will not forget. Agreed. Gordon was a Buell enthusiast before the time of SacBORG, before BadWeb, heck, before PacBOG. He never cared about politics, just riding. And riding. And riding. If we pool all resources, we should be able to do something very nice to immortalize Gordon. Laguna sounds perfect. Vik |

Let me know too... I've already helped out with one of the steps to the cork screw. No problem with another one. Good idea Jerry. |

Info on the brics can be found here: http://www.laguna-seca.com/Scramp/Steps/ Basically, a 4x8 brick with up to 3 lines of text is $150, an 8x8 with 6 lines or a logo and 2 lines is $250 and a 12x12 with 10 lines or a logo and up to 6 lines is $500. My suggestion: a 12x12 with an old school Buell logo and a few lines about Gordon. Vik |

Vik, count me in as well. If the $$ is available, might it be possible to combine bricks for more logo and/or writing? Henrik |

I am in. Gordon was a Buell enthusiast par excellence. I met Gordon for the first time at one of Reg's pre Buell events.Ground Level Thunder at Casa de Fruta. It was a HD thing put on by Thunderpress. His bike beat mine out in the bike show--dirty rat.I was coming home and saw a Buell on the side of the road so had to pull over--it was 1996 and you just did not see Buells anywhere. It was Gordon and his front pulley had failed-all the splines gone on the early style one.Stayed with him until help arrived and helped him load it in a truck.Over the ensuing years Gordon and I have teamed up on numerous rides--the All CA BRAG ride,SPLASH.Always willing to lend a hand or a part.He will be sorely missed. |

I think the paver idea is a great one, truly inspired. I nominate Jerry and/or FMJ to handle the whole deal, with help as required from whoever is willing to pitch in. I'm prepared to donate. |

The internet facilitates these back-&-forth exchanges - it also makes for multiple chat paths that are impossible to monitor! So, I'll be posting this message [and those to follow] only on BadWeb and SouthBayBuellers - those of you on SacBorg, BARF, SBR and other forums, please copy & paste as you see fit. After contacting Chris, Gordon's brother, Feike & Woz have asked me to organize a memorial ride - specifics will be announced after I've spoken with Chris. Any final arrangements the family makes will influence what we do, and when - Jerry/Eeeeek, please forge ahead with the Laguna Seca pavers [and anyone else with other ideas as well]. I'll keep everyone updated as things unfold - the current plan is a Santa Cruz Mountains meet & ride - start & end are undetermined, as is the date. I'm dealing with my grief by taking this action..... Curt p.s. our shadowy Anonymous says it as well as anyone: "Oh man, what a loss. Gordon was incredibly nice. I am going to miss him a lot. He surely lived a wonderful life and left a real mark of goodness that will last with family and friends." |

never meet him but its a fellow bueller. Let me know when the ride is and I will ride here in Louisiana for him. It is a little far for me to ride to santa cruz mountains but I feel the need to give respect and ride here. |
