Just bought my first Buell and will use it as a part time touring bike. Now I need to find some decent bags. Anyone got some lines on manufactures out there for this model? thanks bake |

Kdkerr2... looks like you are trying to use the email reply option, and something got mangled. Isn't somebody using the ventura system and very happy with it? |

> [Thanks for the tips. Check with GIVI USA for hardbags for your Buell. I don't know if they make a wingrack and trunk rack combo for late model Buells. If they don't you can buy their generic wingrack/trunkrack combo and then get your friendly local machinist to fabricate the necessary brackets to bolt it to your tail section. GIVI makes a good selection of quick detachable hard bags which go in capacity from 30 liters to 50 liters. All can be used as either trunks or saddlebags. Then your Buell is converted to an instant sport tourer and when you get home from your trip you just push the red button to dismount the saddlebags and trunk and then you can go canyon cruising with your bros again. Check out their website: www.giviusa.com/ KK ] |

A couple of riders on the board have fitted hard bags to an XB9R and an XB12S. A user by the name of Dale did the 12S. I can't remember who did the 9R, but they used the basic givi cases and made there own mounts. |

By far, the best choice, in my opinion from use, in tank bag is the Cortech non-magnetic tri-bag. Lot's of storage, use the main bag, the small bag, or both zipped together as luggage. I love it.

Hope you all don't mind, I'm posting how I mounted it here for my bro who just bought one. First feed the front strap under the cables and wires. Also make sure the strap is in front of the engine mount isolator but behind the steering neck. Here you can see the rear strap Use the star wrench in the trunk tool bag to remove the seat. Feed the strap under the retainer and loop the buckle. Once the seat is re-installed, the bag mount can be cinched tight. If you're wondering about abrasion issues with the webbing rubbing on the seat mount. Well I've had mine that way for over a year and the strap shows no signs of abrasion (9000 mi) A few notes on the last few pics. Ensure you check the specs and make sure your bike is set for the proper pre-load and dampening while here. Also, ensure the batt connections are tight. Eliz's has vibrated loose twice and left her stranded. I was glad to see the fix was simple, so check it. Any questions, please ask. (Message edited by charlieboy6649 on March 08, 2005) |

I read somewhere that there are now OEM Buell bags for XB models. $160 MSRP. |
