Boston: Suggest you take em back and get the ones that are listed at the top of this page. N0403.Q N0404.Q They should bolt right in place of your old pegs and you will have spring loaded as per your originals.

I am thinking about going to bar end mirrors on my '00 M2 Cyclone... Do these work better then the stock mirrors? I am getting tired of looking at my elbows... I also notice some that just stick straight out the end of the bar, and some that seem to hang below. This is a cyclone remember, so I am wondering if the lower position would be worse (too much head movement for a mirror check). Anybody have any opinions? Thanks, Bill |

Bill: Check the pics above of my '97 M2. Those mirrors are adjustable on the fly via a springloaded toothed joint to any position between straight up or straight down. I ride with them both up. Great mirrors. Came with the bike. |

Thanks Blake... that is what I was looking for... I know they look REALLY nice... and the pics of your bike above were what pushed me over the edge to decide to start hunting some. I just wanted to know if they worked in the real world... sounds like they do. In the up position, I assume they would be in a good position to check without physically moving my head down (just moving my eyes), and would show more then just my elbows because they stick a good 4 inches further out. That, and my cyclone has had no significant failures in nearly 400 miles now... a new record! I don't know what to do with myself All of a sudden I am pacing... getting nervous... thinking about catch cans, new jets, bar end mirrors, and slip on exhausts. I used to make fun of people like that... I need to stop hanging around you people... you are all a bad influence... Though my wife did get a kick out of the fact that somebody named "bighairyralph" was giving me advice on the whole exhaust stud fiasco. Sounds like the quintessential harley expert to me. Only thing better would be "bighaireytattooedralph". Bill |

Banke Rearsets on my '97 M2. Very nice quality except for a few of the fasteners which are not stainless steel and have gathered a dusting of good ole iron-oxide; also the rear brake pedal seems to have lost leverage compared to stock; I can still lock the rear wheel on dry pavement, but it takes excessive effort. The supporting pedal pivot is cantelevered and tends to flex significantly. I'll keep it.

Anyone know if a 99 and later M2 seat and tail section will fit on a 98 S3T? Thanks. |

I'd be interested in some more info. on the Sargent seat mentioned in any earlier post. Any relatively long ride evaluations? I just got back from a road trip, OH to FL, and after the first couple hundred miles thought I was going for the IRON BUTT award. The stock seat of the S3T leaves a lot to be desired. Brian |

Brian, The custom seat from Buell is better (to me) than the stock 98 S3 unit. But, I'm 6'4" and think I might need to move the hump back a little bit so I can have some room to move about. That's why I was wondering about the 99 and later M2 seat. It looks much larger. Terry "Sore Butt Award" |

TKleeblatt - I don't know if they'll fit but I do know the M2 and S3 frame are the same. But I do think the rear section on the S3 is different. Anybody with the 2 models care to check? |

Terry, I've got a '98 but with a '99 seat. Only 5'8" so there's only so much 'movement' I can make while on the "Beast". Before I make another trip, I've got to find a better cushion. It's either that or buy a Road Glide as a second set of wheels, yeh right. Dream, Wish, Hope and Pray. 'bout the only way it'll happen right now. Brian '98 S3T '75 Norton Roadster |

Terry, Brian: Try one of these: Airhawk Or Propad I have tried both and for the $'s-comfort I go with the Airhawk for long distance. YRMV Neil S. |

Reep, I like the CRG barends myself. The smaller heads are slightly convex. I have them set so that I can see the tail in both of them. No blind spots to speak of either. I do see the under side of my elbow somewhat, but does not block my view. Not the cheapest way to go but money well spent. Oh... that vibrating image is not there either Loki |

Blake, I bet that bit of flexy feeling comes from how they are mounted in the swing arm pivot mount. The squeezes rubber syndrome would be felt if one was to really push hard. I think the pivot location is slightly further to the rear as compared to a stock set-up. Giving you a slightly shorter arm requiring that much more effort to initiate a lock-up. the banke arm in the stock set-up gives excellent feel and feedback. Loki enjoy that lady and keep the rubber down... |

Who here knows the seat height for a M2 Low. My wife is thinking of trading in her Blast to get a larger Buell, I'm leaning her torwards an M2 low (seems like for 2002 the M2 low was discontinued), or an S1 with a lowering kit. She bought the Blast with the 1 year tradeup gaurantee. I try to tell her what I think she should get (Ha, I really mean it'll be another awsome ride for me) unless she has it painted fairy pink. |

According to the Buell Web Site, 2002 M2 seat height is 30" with low option available for 28.5". |

Where can I find a set of handlebars that will be about 1" taller and 1" farther back than the bars on my 2000 S-3T? A riser that does the same thing would be good too but I have not found any that will work as the Buell bar clamp is angled. Thanks Ron |

Ron, Check the flandersco.com website (Flanders handlebars). They have one set of bars specifically for the S3T higher and farther back under Import 7/8 handlebars, around $50. Charlie |

Just finished working on my mirrors. Thanks for the tip for the person who emailed me the link to the X1 files! I saw posted there, that the napolean bar end mirrors could be mounted in the stock positions. After much modification I got it acomplished. It took 4 hardware stores to come up with the bolts I used, and becouse of the bolts I dont think this will be a permanent solution. Plus one of the mirrors is pretty pitted. For anyone interested the bolt size and thread for the stock S1 mirror mount is a 10mm 1.25 pitch thread. The mounting looks pretty crappy due to the regular hex bolts I barely found. No stores had the right combination of size pitch and length. Amazingly they function very well and look great up untill you see where there bolted on. I still need a better solution. Looks like the DukeII setup may be on the list for next season. anways here is a pic of the mounting dont dog me too much for this!

Fuscat: Hex head cap screws usually are black anodized. Ace Hdwre on Parker street (K7) has a good selection. |

Good Site Buellzebub. Those bars look like what NeilG has been searching for. But PLEASE don't show the bike from the front. I think it's got dual headlights and a fairing. Two things I'm planning on attempting once I get off my lazy a$$. |
