So I'm looking for some assistance. While I'm not new to bikes or carbs, I am new to the Buell. That being said, let's get in this.

07 Buell Blast

I just got her and have been getting her running. When I picked her up she had no carb due to the original owner having carb issues. I found one on ebay and ordered it. While waiting I put new rings and redid the valves as it had 60% loss. Now that's all fixed and I got the carb in. Noticed it was leaking really badly so I got a rebuild kit from HD. Luckily I took it with and found it was an aftermarket carb(ISO Performance OEM STD). No issues there. Rebuilt it but didn't replace the jet. I did make sure it was clean though. Noticed I couldn't find mixture screws though. Had to replace part of the manual choke as it was missing the collar. Got everything back together and tried starting her. That's where the confusion comes in. She will not idle at all! Played with the mixture screw and got it to start easier. But no matter how far I adjust it, she won't idle. She'll stay running if I give her fuel though. She has no stumble, at least on the table. Obviously I haven't ridden her though. At low throttle, she constantly pops and spits through the carb. I can't find any other adjustments other than the one mixture screw. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

If you don't have a service manual, see if SPHD.com has one for your bike. Absolute must have!

Have you taken all the slack out of your throttle linkage?

Are you sure the jet is the correct size? I'd pull and read the value (number) it has on it.

Are you sure you that you don't have an air leak on the exhaust or the intake? Snug up the exhaust hardware to make sure. Don't overdue it!

If you have a helper, have them put a steady RPM on the engine, then use propane or carb cleaner and spray around the intake.

I've got a digital copy of the manual. As for jet size, I'm not sure. As for leaks, I don't have an air box just breather cage. The exhaust has been checked for tightness. I've got carb cleaner and starter fluid. I'll try that.

Alright so I know it's been awhile but I've been fighting this thing! I rejetted the carb to 45/ 170 but couldn't get the thing to flow fuel. I figured out the carb I got needed an engine vacuum to get it to flow. I ordered a different one, with the electronic choke and everything. Finally got her to start!! Getting a lot of smoke through the carb though. I'm thinking it's oil blow by as the rings are new and not fully seated. Anything else I need to look for? Also this thing idles ROUGH! Thoughts on that?
