So I decided to put in a tachometer, and the one I got goes fine for sportsters and other Harleys, unfortunately it is reading 1/2 rpm because it's made for dual fire coils. Not only do I have a single fire, but single cylinder. There is a fix for these by adding a diode and resistor in series to the negative side of the coil but that's for two cylinders, I tried that and it's still showing 1/2 Rpm. is there some kind of pulse multiplier? I found a universal Tach converter for like 50 bucks, it can have any input be any output. it's overkill for what I need. does anyone know circuits and electronics? I'm sure if I can put the right diode and resistor and capacitors in the right place I could some how double the rpm. anyone have any ideas? |
