Hi all. First post here and hopefully many to come! I have been fixing up a 2002 Blast i got from my cousin.

I went through the troubleshooting procedure to test why it was not starting and ended up replacing everything in the starting circuit. (ignition module/ignition coil/spark plug cable/spark plug)

I also have a new battery.
Upon charging the battery after the troubleshooting and having the replacements installed, I expected to get a spark on the plug and for it to fire right up.

It did not fire up and no spark on the plug, but everything else seemed to be functioning just fine.

I then took a look at my neutral battery connection to find the plastic melting around the wire...

I need to figure out why my bike is melting its wiring and if that is the reason why my bike will not start.

Any and all assistance in this matter would be amazing! Thanks!
