I'm currently mating a 2009 (I believe) XB12 engine to a 2003 XB frame. I see that there are completely different fuel pumps between the two, so I'm assuming I need to toss my old pump and get the newer version? |

Nope, both are compatible. The newer pump is quieter, but in terms of getting fuel into the motor it is the same. I do know the newer pump has a different connector, so if you installed on an older bike you would need to spice a different connector. |

I have an older bike, but a (I think) 2009 motor and wiring harness. Thanks for the help, I'll go back to the prior owner of the motor and see if I can liberate his fuel pump. |

You might find some helpful information here. I did the 08+ into a pre 08 frame several years back and am looking to do something similar. http://badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/4062/64 3228.html?1311462603 Follow on: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/678916.html?1336967007 |
