when you trouble shoot the fuel ingnition system in a XB the engine light should stay on for at least 4 seconds and then go off,
my engine lite turns on for less that a second and goes off, any ideas?

Check all fuses and relays, check power and grounds, do you hear the fuel pump. Check for spark. If those are good I would check CPS crank position sensor. P.S check battery first.

I have checked all the fuses and relays, I do not hear the fuel pump, And I had just replaced the battery it is at 13.2 volts. I will check for spark . but I tried to code the ECM but ECM spy will not load the ECM, and the engine light goes on and immediately goes off < 1 sec.

Might do to unplug the fuel line at the pump, attach a short piece of hose to a suitable container, and turn on the key and the top/run switch and see if fuel flows.

If not, then is power getting to the pump, and so on.

Hope this helps, Dave

Best to check fuses with a load . Use test light. Anyway if your satisfied with fuses and relays with power on key on red power rocker on position. Take wire harnesses from fuel pump to its male female connection and perform wiggle test to see if you can get the fuel pump to cycle on. Google how to get codes by jumping the data connector under seat left side.
