In the following thread, Xbimmer took the trouble to develop and document a cheap alternative to the factory fan. You can see the entire thread, with pictures, here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/762330.html Basically, he got the SPAL VA31-A101-46S , which is available from a number of sources for around $50 to $75, and retrofitted it into the existing fan housing. This requires strategic cutting of the housing. See the referenced thread for all the detail. This fan also looks identical, and is $45 with free shipping on Amazon Prime, but who knows if it is the same. https://www.amazon.com/Spal-30103013-Paddle-Blade- Pusher/dp/B009OBP182 |

Addendum... if you look on the box pictured by XBimmer, it shows a part number of SPL30103013, which is that same Amazon part (also available from many other places). |

I checked around, the OEM fan is indeed made by SPAL, just like the one that Xbimmer found and modified. I wonder if it would be possible to get them to sell them if Harley stops carrying them |

If you have a part number off the original fan I can check suppliers for a compatible model. Or possibly the same model... |
