Hello all Lately my Blast has been having a front wheel wobble issue. I inflated the tires about a week ago and that seemed to resolve the issue for a short period of time-unless I was going over 65 MPH. Now the wobble will return on certain roads when I am going around 40 MPH and not when I am going 65+ Any suggestions? The tire is the original tire from 2009 I believe-bought with 480 miles in 2013 and now has 4800 miles |

Since you make no mention of a damaged or broken wheel, I'll skip that possibility. Do what you need to do to prop the front wheel off the ground. An inch is enough. Place a block of wood next to the sidewall, and using the valve stem as a reference, slowly turn the wheel. Look to see that the distance from the sidewall to the wood block remains constant (IE lateral runout). Then do that for the other sidewall. Next, put the wood block at the center of the tread and repeat. Basically looking for a bulge or lump in the circumference. And does the tread have a triangular cross section, or a smooth curve? A worn tire can cause issues. Is it maintaining proper tire pressure? If you 'like' the tire after these checks, time to check the wheel bearings, and the steering stem bearings and their preload. Loose or worn bearings can cause wobbles. Hope this helps, Dave |
