I really like the look of the '09+ Uly engines (Black) and was thinking of painting mine with some high temp paint from KBS. Has anyone done this? I would use a thin coat but could even a thin coat inhibit heat transfer too much? |

I have been using Dupli-Color engine paint with ceramic and then use their clear engine paint with ceramic over that to protect it. Not just on bikes but on auto engines.

They (Dupli-color) have engine paint with ceramic to 500 deg. F and I also have used VHT (with ceramic) Flame Proof primer and color paint to 1300-2000 deg. F for exhaust manifolds and such. I have also had many parts powder coated and ceramic powder coated high heat items done for me by professionals. Of course cleaning and degreasing your parts prior to painting is important. Good luck on doing it yourself, it is more fun. |
