Firebolt died last nite.engine lite started flashing fast so i shut it off. Then it went into some kind of cool down phase where the fan acted iradically blowing long slow burst that sped up and got shorter until it slow down into long burst again that got slower and slower until it stopped. I turned the key back on and the engine lite was still flashing fast. When i turned the kill switch to on and the fuel pump started kicking on and off in timing with the engine light. I tried to start it and the fan came on when it was turning over and the stop when i stopped cranking the engine. . |

Unfortunately, the nature of your issues are such that I can't say "Look at this connector, or that part". First, follow the instructions in the service manual and retrieve the trouble code(s). Would help a lot. Meanwhile, confirm the battery is providing 12.5V, and have it load tested. That also gives you a chance to confirm the batt are connections are clean and tight. With a known good battery, see if it will start. If so, wiggle the ECU connectors, and turn the bars back and forth while running, and see if problems continue. Our bikes seem to be sensitive to low voltage, and the fact that the fan speed changes with the check light flashing and the fuel pump cycling would tend to point to a voltage/ground issue. Hope this helps, Dave |

Think i have it figured out. Code 44, bank angle sensor. Bike thinks its laying on its side. That may explain the irradic fan behavior. Also code 11 tps. What i cant figure out is why it automatically gives the codes as soon as i turn on the key. Is this normal? And btw..thanks for the response.. |
