In addition to Gabby_duck's link, the stock H-D brand spark plugs are 10R12X and do work great. The insulator nose has a special "mushroom" design that is intended to help burn off carbon deposits better than the standard design and to resist fouling. NGK #4179 DCPR8E are the affordable direct replacement. NGK Iridium #6546 DCPR8EIX are premium direct replacement and should last longer. The DCPR9EIX plugs you are looking at are 1 step colder - not really needed for most applications, but many (including me) have had no issues. If you go that route, I would suggest checking for carbon buildup on the insulator periodically - that can happen if the insulator doesn't get hot enough! |
