Need help knowledgeable members! I bought a non-running 2003 Blast last month. Now,I have it running after cleaning the carburetor and gas tank. I noticed a hole on top of the gas tank. Also,a hose is hanging from the side of the bike. I've just learned it's some type of venting hose that's suppose to attach to the gas tank. Remember the bike seems to be running fine now. Can I just tuck the hose and cap off the hole on top of the tank or is this hose absolutely necessary? Please help! |

Blasted, The vent is absolutely necessary. If you can take a pic of the hole in the tank I am sure someone can help you. Kenny G |

These are pictures of the vent hose and hole in fuel cap. There is nothing inside tank to attach to. |

Blasted, There should be a little fitting sticking out of the vertical silver thingy showing at the top right corner in the photo. If it is missing look in the end of the black hose, if it is not there you will have to devise a fitting or buy a new part. Don't be riding without fixing the problem because gasoline will slosh out. Also blow through the hose to make sure it is not clogged when putting it back together. Kenny G |
