I am having an intermittent 'crackling' noise coming from what seems to be the airbox when I apply about 1/3 throttle. It only makes the noise when I am accelerating, not just sitting in neutral. I experience the noise a few times when riding. I don't feel any drop in power or stuttering or anything. Ideas? |

Can you elaborate on the noise at all? Does it sounds like a hammer on an anvil? Or a piece of sheet metal rattling? Or like a piece of plastic on metal? I'm guessing it is like plastic on metal, and it is your horn beating on the inside of your flyscreen. That is fairly common. When you relocate it, don't interfere with any of the "free movement" space for the wire bundle under there, that can lead to later problems with cracked wires (which may happen anyway regardless). |

I would spend a few minutes and inspect the throttle body shaft, there have been a number of failures with them on the 06 and 07 models. |

It kinda sounds like... bits of sand and pebbles hitting sheetmetal. The horn is actually a Fiamm horn installed by the previous owner. It's a bit bigger than the stocker. What should I look for in the throttle body shaft? |
