so i picked up a 2005 CB12R on Friday. no cel on the 125 mile ride home. on my 220 mile ride the next day (110 mile intervals) the light started to come on then go off randomly. i ignored since i couldn't replicate making it come on so i went ahead and changed my spark plugs over to iridiums, air filter to a K&N and all fluids. now all of a sudden i get a constant CEL for Low Voltage Intake air temperature sensor Fan Voltage Interactive Exhaust sensor the interactive exhaust sensor has been disconnected at the cable since i have the buell race pipes. it doesn't move even though plugged in and doesn't seem like its binding up so not really sure about that one.... tested the battery. when starting it would drop down to 5 volts. changed the battery and the new one only drops to 11 when starting so that problem is fixed. changed iat sensor. that problem is fixed the fan shows some definite signs of resistance when turning by hand so ima disassemble and clean went for a ride and the cel was gone! for about two miles. instead of staying on its now intermittent. when i got back home the battery voltage at 2500rpms was only 12.7 volts so not charging. also jumped pins 1 and 2 and i got all the same codes again. great. looks like i need to start testing the stator and voltage regulator. after all she is 10 years old almost and i have no clue if they have ever been changed. any tips on testing? |

Plug 77 was melted. Removed and sdered the wires together. Now she's 13.8 at idle and 14.1 at 2500rpms. Should be good to go now!!! |
