Hey all,

The low fuel sensor on my OE '10 XB fuel pump died last year, and I found out about it when I ran out of gas out on the highway. I got it replaced at the local HD place, which solved that problem. Now I just want to comment on the fuel pump and the various songs of its people.

Original fuel pump would give a single bwoooOOOOooossh noise when I turned the ignition on. It was a relatively long sound, rising in pitch and then falling again.

The new fuel pump usually goes bweebweebweebweebwee! and then immediately falls silent. It's almost always five "bwee" sounds in a row, but lately it's been three or four "bwees" or maybe even the original "bwoooOOOOooossh." The "bwees" are short, rapid sounds at a high pitch.

Oftentimes at a gas stop, I'll hear a "bwoooOOOOooossh" or three while filling the tank, but never a "bwee."

And, of course, if the line is already pressurized, turning the ignition on earns me naught but the silent, baleful stare of the neutral and oil lights.

Regardless of it's the bwooshes or the bwees, the bike runs great.

So yeah, I don't really have any problems to report. I just wanted to see if anyone else's fuel pump has more than one song in its repertoire, and maybe to crack you up with made-up words describing funny noises. Phhbthp. So there.
