XB12XT 2009 with less than 2800 miles has blown the fuel pump fuse at least four times when the bike, on longer trips, has gone 100 to 120 miles on fuel tank. (1) 1721 miles maintenance write up says code P1470 shown on speedo. Tech writes Ran Diag and rerouted kinked cable. (2) At 1871, Description says Bike died and would not restart. Tech charged $110.00 and did nothing. As stated on Work sheet. (3) At 2463 Miles, Customer states: Bike has come 3 Times for fails to start after longer rides of 100 miles or more. Also states "Neutral Light Doesn't come on and ECU has had problems in the Past" YOU THINK!!!! I PURCHASED THE BIKE COMPLETELY UNAWARE OF ANY PROBLEMs WHEN BIKE HAD 2463 MILES ON IT. AFTER PURCHACE THE BIKE AND ATTEMPTING TO RIDE THE BIKE HOME, THE FOLLOWING OCCURED: (4) At approx. 70MPH and 110 miles on full tank of gas, bike motor just quit running. Found blown fuse in fuel pump ckt. I would truly appreciate any advice, except for junking it that is. |

Replace the fuel pump, some 2009 XB models had a bad batch of fuel pumps that blow the fuse when low on fuel on hot days. Only fixes are either replace the pump or fill up more often |

+1 My '09 CityX did that so many times that Destination HD Buell finally got HD to replace the fuel pump under warranty. No problem with fuses since. |
