My vote goes to Harley-Davidson/Buell of Edison (NJ). There are a lot of great Buell people working there....they treat these bikes well and give them the respect that they deserve, unlike many other H-D dealers I've encountered. Everyone I've dealt with there has a great attitiude....sales, service and parts. They seem to be happy to hang around and just talk to you about bikes...it keeps the ownership experience fun...and isn't "fun" why we all buy these things in the first place? They have also coached me through a couple of mods and self-service f-ups....these guys are great! |

Modesto Buell, as in not H-D / Buell. Nothing against the main shop, but you gotta admit that moving the Buells away from the "chrome and leather tassels" masses down the street is a good move. The people at Modesto Buell are pretty sharp. They know the bikes, and they know what Buell owners are looking for. The parts department is great, they keep a good supply in stock, and they have all the usual aftermarket suppliers books to order from. It's great to see Buell performance parts sharing shelf space with various aftermarket performance parts. The service guys are very good, performance oriented techs. They have enthusiastically given me advise on things that I am doing or want to do to my bike. I short, I highly recommend Modesto Buell to anyone in the Central Valley. Doug |

Here is my new vote. Just got back from Buell of Orlando. Impressed me enough to take the ride next time I want something. They had most of the go fast goodies on display, well the more popular stuff. I like the idea of, when I walk thru the door looking for something it is there. No special orders and waiting for the goods to show. The sales guy was very amicable and talkitive. Appeared to know his stuff. Then just seeing the Banke shifter I just decided to get one. Was putting it off till X-mas and all. just have to pick out something else now. Daytona HD/Buell, needs more killer B stuff on display. HD/Buell of Melbourne, these guys just need to have some killer B stuff around. St. Pual HD/Buell, I could live there..... |

Kudos to the Service Dept of Bartels'. These guys are good with Buells. I recommend them to anyone in the LA area. They finished the 20k mile service and most of the repairs with parts on hand. They let me take the bike with its broken speedo drive even though the part is on order. The Buell tech replaced the torn muffler grommets and sleeve with some "take-offs" in good shape. This was OK by me because Buell obsoleted them in favor of the heavy duty muffler mount that nobody has yet. He's gonna upgrade the mount when it comes in. When he tried to start the bike it wouldn't start because the battery died on him. This surprised me because the battery was always in good shape for me, never giving an indication that it might be on the verge of failure. Nevertheless he installed a new battery, the latest gel cell type, for just the labor cost of installation. Is that cool or is that cool? Lastly he's going to replace the rattling front rotor with the better 2000 assy when they come in. |

My vote is for Modesto Buell. They GAVE me a 2001 shock for my S-1, and they retrofitted my partner's 99 M2 while we waited. I also bought a 2000 M2 with the new shock and wishbone front muffler mount for $7800 OTD. I will be picking it up on the 4th, when Modesto Buell is having its grand opening celebration. |

Bumpus HD in Murfreesboro, TN is a great dealership for Buells. The service manager and two mechs. ride Buells and really take care of their own. The rest of the staff are just as nice as they could be. Parts usually take about 1-2 weeks to get there and come with a 10% discount for those who purchase bikes there. I haven't had one problem with them yet. |

I give strong kudos to the staff at Sauk Prairie H-D/Buell. Gave great customer input when dealing for the bike. Marty is a Buell fanatic and is always willing to talk Buell techno. Parts Dept(Curt) have been responsive and quick with my extras. Alaways have time to chat and see if everything is going OK. Good Folks |

Orlando HD Buell gets my vote as a top Buell dealer. John and Duncan are both enthuasists and very knowledgeable product specialists. The service dept has done SAME DAY! Warranty and non-warranty work for me. Xlnt aftermarket items also. My wife says I should just get Direct Deposit sent there since I'm there 3-4 time's a week. |

Orlando Buell is a great shop. I'm from Indiana, but was on vacation in Florida in October. I stopped in Orlando Buell and ended up talking to John for about an hour. He is a true Buell enthusiast. I like the separate building for the Buells too, nice touch. They have the largest area set up for Buells that I've seen. I'll definitely stop back next time I'm down. |

My vote is for Southside Harley Davidson of Virginia Beach. I commute to work on the bike and they have worked with my schedule to get me back on the road. In the three months I've owned the bike I've had a leaky rocker box, a leaky fuel petcock and a leaky shock - all in 3600 miles. Everytime they are right there to get me back on the road again. I still love the bike and I believe all the bugs have been ironed out..C'mon Buell, you guys need to work on the quality control! |

In the Atlanta area the best your best bet is Earl Small's HD and Buell. See Darrin Schock. I just got my M2 back from them. I can honestly say I am now enjoying my Buell for the first time. The dealer I bought the bike from refused to address any of my problems with the bike. Any complaint was explained away by saying "It's a Harley, it's supposed to do that" or "You need to bring it in for servicing..., another service will take care of it". I forked over $350 in services before I made my first payment on the bike. The dealer I bought the bike from refused to stand behind the product. Everything was my fault. Out of desperation I took it to Earl Small's on a recommendation by some Buellers on a BRAG ride. The only BRAG group in the area is based out of Earl's (that should tell you something right there). The service manager Darrin Schock was not pleased when I told him I didn't buy the bike at his shop but I wanted him to fix it under warranty. His back log of work was huge. He explained that his shop would address my issues, but it was going to take awhile. I got my bike back sooner than he said. I was stunned that $1140 of work was done. I was almost speechless when he gave me the keys and said "take it easy for 50 miles, see ya". The bike runs great now! I checked the mechanic's work and was amazed at some of the things he fixed. The previous dealer's "tech" stripped out some threads in the rear muffler bracket. Instead of letting this go, the Earl Small's mechanic ran a nut on the almost inaccessible back side. I never met this guy but his name is Bart. My bike rocks now Bart! I love the sound my engine makes now, a wonderful mix of mechanical whirring and basso profundo overtones! I'll address the nature of the problems and fixes in more appropriate areas on the BADWEB. Also, the parts department actually has parts in stock for Buells, both factory and aftermarket. No ordering and waiting for pipes, carb kits and such. I must have cleaned out their entire stock of shift levers one month! The staff there is very customer oriented. What some of them lack in knowledge is more than made up for with enthusiasm and effort to try and do the right thing. Thanks. |

My vote goes to Illinois Harley Buellidson, They have a very good sales team with Ken W. heading up the new Buell sales. He is very knowledgable in everything Buell. Jake in performance parts is a heck of a guy and will help with any delima. Doc in service is the dude, all of these guys own or have owned Buells'. It's nice to have a dealer that gets involved. Thumbs up guys, and keep up the excellent job. |

Stealers and Dealers This website has a list of all the HD dealerships in the US with comments from customers about prices, and customer satisfaction. It is more oriented towards Harley's but anyone can leave comments about a Buell experience. Word of mouth can be the most powerful advertisement. |

Gainesville Buell/Harley Davidson (Florida) I've got two dealers within 15 minutes of me... but I drive 2 1/2 hours to Gainesville for recall or Buell specific work that I can't do. My shock (recall shock) puked a week or so ago. I called Gainesville... Matt said it was a good thing I called as he was about to call Buell for replacement shocks that very day. I figured ok... I'll be without a shock for a while now. Two days later Matt calls back to tell me he has the shock in hand! I'm driving up there tomorrow morning and they'll do the work while I wait. This is very common for Gainesville Buell/HD. They've taken care of my Buell needs when the local dealers didn't have the parts or didn't even know the parts existed! Jim's HD and Fletchers HD *do* have a couple of Buell supporters working there. Scott (mechanic) at Jim's is an avid Buell fan and racer and is always there to help out. He's one of the nicest guys you could ever hope to meet. But these local dealers don't get the *complete* support from the rest of the store. Such as owners, parts, proper tools, etc. Gainesville is the *COMPLETE* Buell dealer. Always stocking parts... always knowledgeable about what's going on in the Buell world... always bending over backwards to provide excellent service to the customer. When Gainesville realized they'd be doing a lot of swingarm work, Ray Lytle sprung for an expensive hydraulic "cherry picker" lift to make the work easier. And one thing that also sets Gainesville apart from the rest is that *everyone* who works there rides a Buell! Steve P.S. I know... I go on and on maybe too much about Gainesville. I've done it before. But *every* experience I've had with them has been excellent. I just like to spread the word. |

Eastside Buell, in Bellevue WA: They've been primarily an HD shop, but Scott Moon has held the Buell banner high, and the service department is much more Buell friendly than a couple years ago. The parts-guys have been very helpful, and Kurt the Buell mechanic, an ex-Boeing jet fighter mechanic, has ramped-up well. The General Manager, Duane, likes Buells, which always helps. I'm pleased my local dealer is a good one. David |

Hi, Just wanted to let everyone know that although I've had tons of problems (great and small) with my 2000 X-1, the sales and service (support) staff at Southeast Harley/Buell in Bedford (Cleveland) Ohio have been awsome in thier service! Thanks!!! Bill |

BUELL/HD of NewCastle, PA These folks helped me while on my roadtrip last June from Phoenix to Laconia. I blew the belt and limped in from Sharon, PA. The staff is not only very knowledgable when it comes to Buells, but they also sponser a serious racing program. They squeezed my '95 S2 into their busy schedule and had me back on the road in a few hours. They didn't gouge me on the price either. A great shop with some great folks working there. |

Have to put my 2 cents in.. HD/Buell of Fort Washington, MD has got to be the greatest place. Not to mention they are really knowledgable and easy to work with. As for the Dealer in Baltimore(sorry, don't have a name for them), heard some really nasty stuff as to the way the treat woman Buell owners. As though they don't know Sh**. Customer Service is really crappy to and the Management doesn't seem to care much either way.. KB |

Pikes Peak HD/Buell, Colorado Springs, CO Pikes Peak moved into their new building at I-25 and N. Nevada Avenue about a month ago. They now have a dedicated Buell section of the store and it looks pretty good. David Arnold is their new dedicated Buell salesman and he is great. He was alot of help to me deciding on which new Buell I "needed". He's planning on stocking a good selection of parts and accessories for the Buells in the near future. (Their current selection is pretty good.) They have a couple of older (collectable type) on display along with their S1 race bike. If your in the area, stop by and take a look. |

How'd he get the belt off without dropping the swingarm? I gotta go check my service manual. I almost bought an "older" Buell when I got mine just to get the belt-escape frame cutout section. Just curious. |

If you need throttle cables for your Buell in the Tampa Bay, Florida area... forget it. They're not stocked at either dealer (Jim's or Fletchers). I ran into the same problem when I needed brake pads... they didn't stock those either. It's a shame I have to travel or order from dealers 100's of miles away when there are two dealers within 15 minutes of me. They'll sell you a Buell, but they don't support Buell... never did... period! Steve |
