I just pulled the Ulysses out of the garage for the spring. It idles roughly and stalls at the lights. I used fuel stabilizer to winterize the bike, wondering now if I used a little too much and would this type of product clog the fuel injectors? Any suggestions? So far I: -replaced the fuel with fresh premium gas -checked the air filter, used some carb cleaner in the air intake -checked the connections on the computer. I haven't taken it for a long rider with the fresh fuel, it runs fine at mid-high rpm, basically just rough at idle and at stop lights. |

Pop off the airbox and make sure some rodent didn't build a nest in your air filter. The XB's with fuel injection resist goo-ing up pretty well. I'd get all the gas out I could, fill fresh, and go for a long relaxed highway ride and see if it clears up. FWIW, I just recently found out how fuel stabilizer works... in addition to absorbing moisture, it actually forms a molecular film on the surface of the gas. Almost like a "lid". That keeps the more volatile compounds from evaporating so quickly. I don't know if it's true, but it's a good story. Anyway, understanding that, the trick to fuel stabilizer is getting it in your gas as soon as possible after you pump it. So don't use a lot of it (as I was prone to do as well), just use the right amount but get it in there sooner. |

Thanks! No mice in the filter box, I will try the easy (fun) solution first with a good long ride LOL Interesting about the fuel stabilizer, I thought it was voodoo or witchcraft I am suspicious about the ECM I have two, the stock and the EBR I do like to switch between them |
