I'm looking for an OEM stock muffler for my XB9SX Lightning. I'm reasonably sure one from a 1200 will fit and have one, but I am equally sure that the tubes are different on the inside. If anyone has one they would like to "part" with please PM me? I'm also open to anyone that has knowledge of the internal differences besides the valve in the 1200 putting in their 2cents. Thanks a bunch! |

Funny, I thought that the headers were a different size from the 9 to the 12. YMMV. |

They are, the tubes on the XB12 headers are a little wider, and while they will bolt up to the XB9 it will hurt midrange power a little. Top end is about the same. Willydac50 however was asking about putting the Xb12 muffler on a XB9. Also doable, and some discussion by others that have done it is here: http://badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/1 59899.html?1163476022 |

Oh no no. Mine came with an xb12 gutted muffler that was poorly done. I did finally get a stock XB9 muffler and put it on. Bike looks great and I can hear all the rattles and taps that I should be able to hear. As far as the headers go, I wouldn't know. I do know that the XB12 muffler was precisely the same as the XB9 muffler in all aspects save for the flapper valve. It doesn't exist on the 9's muffler. |
