XB 1200 Lightning My headlights keep burn out they might last for a couple of hours. I have changed spark plug wires and plugs because i suspected that the wires (leaked) and sends its current into the headlights threw the wire harness that goes quite near the spark plug wires. I have checked the charging voltage and it is 14, something volts Please give me some ideas what might be wrong. Thanks Niklas |

Your voltage regulator is failing, it is not keeping the voltage near 14.2V, and when it spikes to 17+ volts, it blows your headlight bulbs. Replace the VR http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/17507.html |

Could be VR related grounds or connectors as well, but it has to be VR related if you are seeing more than 15V or so. |
