Author Message   Camplo24 Posted on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 - 07:34 am:        I'm having an ongoing issue with oil leaking from the point where the clutch cable threads into the primary. My fear, after reading several posts, is that I have stripped the threads when tightening this cable. I've tried replacing o-ring and even adding teflon tape to the threads. The oil continues to leak. Before I try a new clutch cable, I wanted to know if anyone had an idea of what actually strips...the male threads on the clutch cable OR the female threads of the primary. Any info or tips would be extremely appreciated as I an getting tired of having to ride around with a diaper for my bike. Yeah the integrity of that connection looks ok in my case. The leak is definitely coming from the threaded connection. I'm leaving my mark everywhere I park. I just ordered a new clutch cable in hopes that the male threads are what is causing the leak.   Hams Posted on Saturday, July 14, 2012 - 11:25 pm:        Issue is the female threads being aluminum (soft as butter) and male threads steel. Solid fix is 27/64 drill, 5/16-24 EZ Lok thread insert. I also used JB Weld to lock in place.
