Any one know the front frame differences between say a '98 S-1 and '00 X-1? Airtech has this killer full body race fairing kit for the S-1's, but they say they are not sure if it will fit the X-1. I am no stranger to mods, but wanted to know how much is really different with the frame upper, like width, length, stuff like that. Also would a S-1 tank fit the X-1 too (the fairing kit is designed to be used with the S-1 tank)? This is the kit I am referring to: http://airtech-streamlining.com/buell/gp/gpside.jpg |

Bull, Better late than never? If you can get into a word processing program such as MS Word and print out a proper sized "Buell" using the Haettenschweiler font you will pretty much have it. You might need to experiment with using a boldface type or stretching the character aspect ratio some, but that should get you very close. Buell |

Anyone know of a common automotive color paint that can be used to touch up minor chips and scratches on Amazon Green Paint? |

I'm sure this has been asked, but I can put a chin spoiler on my M2 right? (2001). If so does anyone out there have a blue or black one? And will it "bolt" on or do I need to work at it? |

Am I safe to assume that the paint code listed above as Billet is actually the Billet Metallic Silver? I am sending my saddle bag lids to be painted tomorrow and want to make sure that I give the painter the right code. Thanks |

I've posted some pictures and comments on the new tail section from Casuno (Japan) that I just mounted on my M2. The post is here |

Jerome That tail section & seat look real good. How much did that set you back? I assume the tail section and seat are together in a kit and it's probably primed? Is the phone number in the posting still good? |

Price for the complete tail section (including mudguard and plate support, not including the light and turn signals) and the seat was $880.93 including express shipping (two days) to France. Regarding the contact, Little Tokyo Motorcycle Shop is located at Los Alamitos in California. I don't have their phone number here but if I recall well it was different from the one given by Bryan on the Casuno thread. Have a look at the yellow pages, you'll find it. Their email is : sales@ltmcshop.com (local contact named Tad, and speaking a good english). Yes the tail section comes primed and you need to do the painting yourself. |

Does anyone know where I can get the trim pieces that fit below the tank cover on a lightning on right and left sides when you use a custom intake and eliminate the scoops on both sides? |

Hey blue lightning, Don'nt waste youre time with the Airtech fairing unless you want to do allot of glass layup. I have already investigated it. The S-1 seat and frame rails come together at an "X" between the seat and tank. Look at a X-1. There is a bar that the tank bolts to that makes the X-1's waist wider and the glass won't line up. that is just one example , there are others. Good luck with the mod's though, Soundman... |

Can anyone post or email a picture of the installation process for an X1 chin fairing? I'm mostly interested in the hardware needed to attach piece (especially the "front" right side). Thanks!!! |

Coloring your XB's Surlyn Reflection Series® resin bodywork. See the PDF at the link below to find out what might be needed to change the color of your XB's body. http://www.dupont.com/industrial-polymers/surlyn/reflectionseries/sr_coatingguid e.pdf Here's the document introduction and list of stuff you need: quote:This document contains recommendations for coating surfaces of parts made from molded-in-color DuPont™ Surlyn Reflection Series® resins. Recommendations are intended for clearcoating or basecoating and clearcoating of such surfaces. Surfaces which are not smooth or that have gouges or deep scratches should not be repaired with these instructions. DuPont Automotive's ChromaSystem™ Technical Manual provides additional information and instructions that you should refer to when using the following products referenced in these procedures: • Plas-Stick™ Plastic-Prep 2319S - surface cleaner. • Plas-Stick™ Adhesion Promoter for Plastics 2322S - adhesion promoter for clear coating unprimed surfaces. • Low VOC Prime 'N Seal™ 27I0S/2740S/2770S - three component non-sanding primer. • ChromaClear® Multi-Use V-7500S - two component urethane clear. • ChromaBase® Basecoat - colored basecoat.

Any tips on repairing a crack in an S2 (fibreglass) fairing? Its about one inch long, going both ways out from the mirror. Should I drill a small hole at the end of the crack? Fill the crack with resin? Does it need a bit of cloth on the back (or both sides)to hold it together? How do you keep the mounting surface flat if you do that? |

Quick, easy project: I wanted to do something like this, but didn't want to spend the money, so I got 1/2" reflective tape from Applied Graphics and it turned out like this. |

Are there any alternatives to the X1 tank accents from American Sport Bike? I've seen a few from other companies but they look like they're from the same moulds. Has anyone tried to make there own? |

After doing a little research, I don't think this question has been answered. What to do to prevent bubbling when repainting an early S1 tank. I can do without the decals, but am concerned about the paint bubbling due to the construction of the tank. Anyone successfully repainted? Any tips? Thanks, SteveH |

i have an M2 but like the looks of the X1 or S1 dash and flyscreen a lot better. are there big differences between the layout of the gages or the dimensions of the flyscreen between X1 and S1? is there anything i need to do the swap other than the dash panel and the flyscreen? anyone have any parts laying around? TIA Ken |

Ken you'll need to get a X1 dash cause the size of your speedo is larger then what will fit in a S1 dash. Then all you'll need to pick up is a X1 fly screen and a Tach for a M2.You can pick up a used Tach from a 99 or newer X1 or S3 and it will work just fine but the low fuel light won't work. |
