I have an xb9r (2003) It ran perfect for 2 weeks, then one day it just didnt want to stay running. It started, but died out after 2-3 seconds. I drained the fuel, checked the lines, put in new plugs, checked spark, re-filled fuel and now it won't even fire. it turns over fine, but it wont start. I tore apart the airfilter stuff and got to the throttle body. on the back side (facing the rear of the bike) the throttle body had a little 'plug' that s connected with 2 screws. this 'plug' then has 3 electrical wires going into a wire harness. green black and red. The black wire is completely exposed and the green wire is severed, nearly 100% through. Anyone know what this is or if this is the problem? I am selling my bike and the day the buyer came over is the day the bike didn't start. needless to say, i lost that sale...... |

If your battery isn't holding a charge it probably needs to be replaced. The piece you are referring to is most likely the throttle position sensor, so yes it would cause your bike to run like crap. |

the battery has been tested for both voltage and cca. both are optimal. |
