Just mounted a tire for the first time. I followed generic instructions so I put the mark on the tire by the valve stem and proceded to static balance them. Balanced just fine and removed them from the balancer and checked the balance again just be sure. No changes. Read the service manual afterwards (don't ask why I decided to read it after I finished, I don't know either) and it talked about a green balance dot on the inside of the rim. Should I break the bead to see if there is a difference or am I ok if I didn't have any trouble balancing it? Thanks in advance for any help. |

If it static balanced, you are fine. At worst, you just added a little bit of more weight than would have been necessary had you lined up the dots differently. In reality, it probably would have been fine wherever you put the dots and with no balancing at all. Modern wheels and tires are pretty consistent all over... |
