I'm getting about ready to strip my motor, I have checked my primary drive nut once before and it's dang tight!! Left hand or right hand thread?? last time i could'nt move it, either way, not even with my pneumatic impact driver!! |

Do not use a impact driver! You can potentially mess up the alternator rotor, loosen the magnets, demagnetize them, etc. The nut on the crank is normal right hand threads. Use a locking bar between the primary drive and clutch basket. The clutch basket is left hand threads. A LONG breaker bar is in order... It will come loose, remember there is RED thread locker on the nut and the nut may have as much as 250ft lbs of torque on it. (Or 250 lb ft if you're the picky type.) |

The left hand thread is on the clutch basket, which will also have to be removed if you want the chain to come off. |

I use a BEEFY 1/2" breaker bar with a 2' piece of pipe slid over it... Or I use my 3/4" torque wrench, it's about 4' long and goes up to 300 ft lbs. |
