Guys! In a fit of insanity, I sold my beloved '07 XB12R in '09 and have been pining away ever since. Now, I've fallen for a '04 Lightning for about 4 grand but it's got 25k on the clock. Questions: 1. Is that too much for this kind of motor? 2. Is that mileage the point at which I'll have to start replacing stuff just from normal wear like belt, brakes and crap that all add up? 3. Since H-D killed Buell, what is the parts situation like...will it be tough to get parts in a few years? Thanks guys and I hope to be mounted on a Buell again soon! (Maybe by mid-week, lol.) |

Nope

It is the same as it was when you sold your bike. No difference between getting parts for a Lightning and any other Harley. $4k for an 04? You can do better than that, I got an 06 with half that mileage for $4k, and that was in 2008. |

i personally wouldnt by a bike w more than 20K on the clock be it a V2 or I4 or whatever but thats just me. most chassis parts arent too $$$ but motor/tranny often time is. if i knew for sure that the one previous owner took really good care of it i would consider it if the deal was just right |
