I just recently had to replace my instrument cluster on 08' 1125r. I gave my mileage when ordered. Installed and turned on the key. All lights came on and the needle swept. All looking good but then I noticed 4 dashes where the ODO is and a timer countdown from 30 minutes where the normal countdown from 4 minutes is when the key is turned off. I started the bike and ran fine as the counter continued to countdown. Still only dashes at the ODO spot. Turned the bike off, waited a minute turned it back on and the counter continued counting down from it's last point. NORMAL!? MILES? |

Normal, the cluster cannot be programmed to any mileage you want, so after installation, it gives you a 30 minute countdown before it pairs with the ECM and copies the mileage off of that. |

Okay, thank you...why didn't the dealership tell me that? Don't matter. |

They probably just honestly didn't know. It sounds like you bought it at the parts counter, and its not like they are selling 1125 clusters every day like oil filters and brake pads. In all fairness, it does say it in your service manual
