For those here who have a horizontal band saw, here's a few things over the years that I've found to be helpful cutting material. First one is using a drill press vise vertically to hold short small stock, works great for cutting small bolts also. Note spacer at the rear the same width as dp vice to keep jaws square.  This works great for cutting those short round pieces that the vice wouldn't normally hold securely. Piece of 6" heavy wall tube split in half. It keeps the clamping force centered on the movable jaw allowing even contact pressure on the fixed jaw so the material is held secure.   I use this for cutting oddball shapes and angles.  Step clamps for the milling machine and a T nut made to fit the slot in the saw bed. (Message edited by Jramsey on July 03, 2011) | ||
