Hey all! Had my front pulley strip out, including the socket nut and socket nut lockplate all 3 where stripped.. bearing seems fine same with the transmission shaft thing. So i got the front pully off.. going to be putting it back on sat. so i think i got everything right of what i need to do just need some input.. So i loosen the axle nuts.. loosen the belt tension setting nut thing at the end of the swing arm.. move the back wheel forward then put the belt on the front pulley.. then tightin everything back up? that all seem right? i know i need a 1 7/8 socket for the pulley nut, and 36mm socket for the axle nut. and a 1/2" star to get the ?isolator? thing loose? or do i even have to do that? the isolator nut is at the top left of the frame (looks like its touching) seems to me i have to move the swing arm up.. is that even possible? sorry for all the questions just need to get this all down before sat before i waste ppl's time that will be willing to help but there no mechanics either lol thanks. |

If your belt is good there's no need to loosen the isolator bolt. But if the head of the bolt is touching the frame, you've got a torn isolator and that will be a whole different job. Check the Knowledge Vault on that one. rt |

I wouldn't ride it with a torn isolator. If the front isolator lets go you can suffer major damage to front cylinder head, rt |

Put a piece of +/- 5/16" steel rod through the rear axle and put the ends of the rod on your jackstands. Be very careful jacking the motor, it's easy to crack the aluminum crankcase. rt |
