my new-to-me 07 uly will not illuminate the red CEL upon key switch or when trying to read trouble codes by shorting across the 2 pins. i didn't even notice it until my buddy pointed it out to me. anybody have an idea as to the cause/cure? i'll try swapping IC's with my XB9S and see if the LED has burnt out, or if it is something deeper. i am the third owner. the guy i bought it from didn't do anything to it. he hardly even rode it, so he's not much help ... |

Does the bike start and run fine? If so, its probably the light on the cluster. The CEL is controlled by the ECM, so normally if the light won't come on your ECM isn't activating. |

It is a bulb, American Sport Bike has them and it is easy to swap out. I recommend you swap it with you turn signal indicator bulb just to test before you buy |

Nope, all years XB had the indicator and gauge backlights under the dash are bulbs, but the low fuel light is LED. I just checked American Sport Bike, I see he sells LED upgrade replacement bulbs, not just plain bulbs if thats what you desire. They probably are available at Autozone or RadioShack anyway.
