i just got this bike and there's a crack in the exhaust am i better off to put an after market exhaust on or repair the old one and insight would help thanks. | ||

if is repairable (i've had mine welded twice [different spots]), it is cheaper and keeps the bike quiet. the stock muff does everything adequately, but a free breathing intake and a free flowing exhaust coupled with a fi recalibration will shift the torque curve a bit higher and unleash a few hidden ponies (makes the bitch a bit peppier).....it will also piss more people off, as all aftermarket zausts are TOO LOUD TO ANYONE EXCEPT ANOTHER ENTHUSIAST. even if the guy next door loves bikes, your loud one waking him up in the morning will not be appreciated. these bikes are quite rideable as is, and can get you in plenty of trouble bone stock. don't be fooled into believeing that john q. citizen thinks we are cool on loud bikes. the state of california and the city of denver have started the ball rolling to silence us. think about being part of the solution rather than part of the problem oh, btw, if you have a loose interpretation of traffic "guidelines" as i do, you will find it easier to have fun if you are not announcing your approach and exit with excess decibels http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s13e 12-the-f-word  bwubbwubbwubbwubbwubbwubbwubbwub....... |
