I have a 2010 XB12Scg that has consistently gotten no better than 34 MPG. A HD dealer I trust has looked it over and found nothing unusual. It had a new fuel mapping loaded in March. My 2005 XB12R got at least 43 MPG.

Has any one else had the same "problem" or found a solution (Erik Buell Racing ECM)? I was hoping the lightning would get a little better gas mileage than my 1125.

I have 3 fuel injected Buells, (two 1125, one XB12), all 3 had a fuel economy improvement of about 10-15% over stock ECM.

How many miles are on your SCG? The fuel economy will improve as the motor breaks in. If you are keeping logs, you will see a nice boost after around 5000 and 10,000 miles. Also, check your tire pressure, if it is too low it will also kill the fuel economy.

Thanks. The bike is almost to the 5000 mile mark. I look forward to a boost on MPG. I will look into the Erik Buell Racing ECM. Right now I only have the stock pipe and that ECM needs an open pipe. Might have to save up so I can purchase both.

Not for the 2010 XB12:

"Engine Control Module for 2010 XB12 model motorcycles with large muffler can volume race exhaust systems such as XB ProSeries, Dummer, or Special Ops. This ECM also works with motorcycles that have both race exhaust systems and a free flowing air filter."

Since they offer the ECM for earlier model XB12s with the stock exhaust. I could probably make a request and see what I find out.

My 06 XB12Scg with Buell Race kit (ECM,Muffler,Air filter)gets about 55mpg on average. Less than 20K on it and the kit has been there since the bike was new. I can't complain about the mpg but I sure wish the fuel tank was larger. I agree with Froggy, as it breaks in you will get some improvement.
