I recently purchased a 98 S1W and I am looking for someone who has nuclear blue and molten orange touch up paint for it. I can no longer get it at any dealerships that I know of. How much do you need? I obtained the 1/2 oz. touch up bottles (not aerosol/spray) from my local dealer for both nuclear blue and molten orange (and some others) in a buy-out of their Buell stock. I have one each of the base coat and top coats for both (4 little bottles total). They're obviously old bottles and SOUND good but I haven't opened them to check. Let me know if you're interested. The touch up paint is what I was looking for so I am interested in them. Can you please clarify for me, is the blue a two part process (silver then blue topcoat) and is the orange two part (orange with clear topcoat)? I am just asking because I am not sure. If that is the case I would like all four bottles if the price is right. Thank you for your help! | ||

Good questions, and I admittedly was curious about the same issues and can't provide answers. The bottles (from memory...AKA dangerous!) simply say "Base coat" and "Top coat". One of each for each color. Price: Tell you what. I'll check the bottles and verify there's liquid in them and let you know. Have you checked to see if the bottles are still good or not? Please let me know what you find. I did end up finding some touchup at a dealer and went ahead and ordered it from them, but I would still like yours as well. I paid $50 for the four bottles you are talking about plus a bottle of clearcoat shipped to my house. If yours are in good shape, I would be willing to donate $40 if you would ship them to me. Does that sound okay to you? Please let me know. p.s. I found out the nuclear blue and the molten orange are both a 3 stage process. Base coat (dry 5 min) top coat (dry 5 min) clear coat (dry 5 min) 2nd clear coat (allow paint to dry for minimum 2hrs before riding). Thought you might like to know FYI... Thanks again for your help! They all check out and are still liquid. FWIW since you indicated they both need a final clear coat, I have 3 bottle of the clear coat (96014-98Y) as well (Did I mention I have a lot of bottles?) I paid my dealer half price for all of them to clear his inventory, so $40 is fair for the four 1/2 oz bottles to the cause. If you want the 3 clear, the cause will need $50 total for all seven 1/2 oz bottles. Caveat: I'm on travel for the next week and won't be able to ship anything until next Friday at the earliest. | ||

Can't help with touch up paint, but, have found a VERY close powder coat color call Dormant Blue from a place called Powder Buy the Pound.   |
